Living here in San Antonio, I see Ginibili play a lot more than the average fan. He is an absolutely phenomenal player who gets better every year. Honestly, I'm not sure if I've ever seen a player quite like him. He's an elite scorer, yet he plays with the hustle and scrap of a role player, almost like a cross between Dwyane Wade and, I don't know, Dennis Rodman?

This hot streak he was on lately was amazing (and depressing, to be honest). I think he had two 40-point games while taking less than 20 shots, which is a remarkable accomplishment. I also think I read he was the first player since Shaq and Olajuwon -- two 7-foot centers, it should be noted -- to average more than 30 points over five games while shooting better than 60 percent from the floor.

I'm hoping and praying he cools off, because if he's hitting his jumper he is almost unguardable. Kobe is the better player, of course, but Hollinger's point was pretty clear to me: Ginobili's a lot better than people think.
