smiling? for wut?

Post#1 » by nermindee » Mon Mar 3, 2008 1:17 pm

anybody else ticked off at lamar while he was smiling after missing 3 throws? seems like a joke to this guy... cus i know i sure as hell wouldnt be smiling if i missed 3 ft's in a row to put a game away. Kobe saved his ass by getting a rebound.

Yeah yeah kobe missed a ton of ft's (uncharacteristic of him) but atleast you dont see him taking it lightly..."Im shooting free throws like crap" you all saw him pissed as hell, he even hit a lady in the face with a towel by accident bwuhahahaha, cus you know he picked up a towel all quick and the one below it got stuck lol nevermind just watch it and laugh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IB1jNJN81zE ... kobe still put this game away at the line even though he struggled.

Lamar needs to get his head straight and throw his non chalant attitude out the window.

no no this aint another hate lamar thread, cus good lord i know we have enough of that...

Im just saying if lamar had kobe's killer attitude then maybe we wouldnt have trouble putting a game away when we are up on the scoreboard.

Lamar needs to do a better job, but that is just his way of handling an averse situation like that.

If everyone had Kobe's instincts and competitive spirit, then Kobe wouldn't be as unique and great as he is, right?

Most players can't play good when mad. Kobe is probably in the minority when it comes to that. Aside from bad free throw shooting he played Dirk tough, and hit the boards. Sure he's had a few low scoring games, but when hasn't he? I'm happy with the win.

OMG you guys need to give it a rest. All that matters is that we won the darn game. It was a very ugly win but it was a win. Some of you are so quick to point the finger, I want to see you guys go in front of 19,000-22,000 people and hit some darn FTs and not only that shoot 100% from the line too. What I'm saying is that somedays you can hit it and somedays you can't, you know what you do when that happens you keep it moving. We were just talking about how good he played and now when he shows that he up-beat about something bad we want his head, it has to stop. EITHER WERE FOR HIM OR WERE AGAINST HIM THERE IS NO IN BETWEEN.........

Lollllllll

So funny , I noticed that too.
DumA55 misses crucial free throws with his 5 points and he's standing at the line freaking smiling .
Im so over L.O since we got Gasol , and the Lakers are pllaying well .
He doesnt seem to phase me as he did before , I mean I can promise that he wont be playing for LA next year .
So let him smile all he wants , he sucks .
I dont care if he gets double doubles now and then .
To me he is worthless and its going to come back and bite him in the A55.

The griping about Lamar on here has gotten to a point of embarrasing yourselves with these microscopic evaluations. It's like some posters just can't switch out of that mode no matter what.

I don't think it's over-analysing or being overly critical of Odom if as a fan, watching Odom clang free throws that could possibly seal the game for us and laughing, pisses you off.

It doesn't mean you think he sucks as a player, it just means you're into the game and expect a little more intensity at that stage of the game.

He played pretty well over all, but he didn't fight through the screen like he should of when Dirk got that 3 at EOR. He got a little loose on D down the stretch and then he's clanking FTs-FTW...

I think that's justified criticism...

Gasol masks some of the reasons he caught flack BG... Now AG, when we face teams with a solid PF-C presence that can neutralize Gasol, Odoms faults get magnified again.

i don't think its all that rare for someone to smile in a situation where things aren't going their way. its not a happy smile, its a i can't believe this is happening smile.

lamar is a very good role player, next to kobe and gasol...and hopefully bynum...hes one of those players who takes his game to a completely different level in the playoffs...
the only player i would consider trading him for would be shawn marion, only cuz marion can help guard players like dirk or kg, just like odom.
i just wish odom's points went up a little bit...instead of the 5-7 points..if he could put up a consistent 14/10, id be very happy with his play as a 4th option

Ha ............

Considering the number of open shots he misses ,Odom just does not fit the triangle like we need him too . His jumper is not consistent enough, and he makes too many mistakes , way too many mistakes .

Lamar Odom isnt worth his paycheck.
He is very inconsistent and he will never be an all star caliber player we need him to be .
He is a waste , and to top it off he steps up to the line and needs to close out the game by making his freethrows and he misses them and then he smiles about it .

lakers don't need lamar to be all-star caliber.

I mean let me know if thats still asking to much ?

Just one free throw , or maybe two .

There is a reason why everybody is down on LO because the guy does have a low IQ and very CLUTCH for the OTHER TEAM. Whenever a game is on the line, as an opposing coach, you can always count on LO to miss FT's, turn the ball over, run over his defender for a charge, or even attack the rim when there is 20 seconds left on the shot clock. It is really a tiring act.

Yes the guy does put up some decent numbers and plays ok defense occassionally, but the guy will ALWAYS find a way to make fans want to bang their head against the wall. I didn't find anything funny about missing 3 critical free throw. It is like me laughing at the end of the day at work after making 3 critical mistakes for a client's retirement account.

And to the guy who said he likes to see some of us go in front of 20,000 people and shoot FT's. Yes we understand that isn't an easy thing today, majority of us has played the game of basketball and we know from first hand experience that your shots are not always going to go down. BUT, majority of us also DO NOT EARN over $12 Million per year on our paycheck. Therefore, we EARN the right to criticize the guy.

Imagine if you screwed over your client and while they yell at you. Are you going to yell back and say "Listen Pal, you think its easy handling 50 different client account everyday? I like to see you do it to perfection." You won't get away saying that at work will you?

i dont understand the point of the argument, its a crime to smile? i mean, even kobe admitted that his amounting frustration was leading him to miss all those free throws. it took the sight of his daughters at halftime to get him to relax, compose himself, and sink the rest of the 13 fts he took and made in the 2nd half.

some ppl laugh in the face of danger, it doesnt mean they dont care

Good post Minhee ............

What pissed me off , the last shot that Dirk took to tie the game .
We had a foul to give with just a few seconds left .
Lamar Otooess , get's picked by Terry ............ Push him , foul him , dont just give Dirk a free shot .
What an idiot .

Lamar was smiling at something Kobe said to him. We need to chill out, this is petty.
