Bynum has to be ready to BANG!!!!!

After watching the last few games I realize one thing when it comes to Bynum's return. He has to be ready to bang. Centers are starting to push Gasol around and grabing a lot of boards. When Bynum returns and Gasol moves to the 4 Bynum has to bang these centers and be a hog on the glass. He will still get the same amount of offensive production because of the easy looks he is going to get. In order for us to make a run to the championship Bynum is going to have get more than his 10 rpg he was getting before his injury. Any thoughts?

Bynum was averaging 12.2 rebounds in January before going down, so I have no doubt he'll be able to continue that once he gets back into game shape. I have a hard time believing we'll ever be out-rebounded with Bynum, Gasol, and Odom playing together. It just doesn't seem possible.

With Bynum, Gasol and Odom we surely cannot be outrebounded, should be interesting to see how far Odoms rebounds drop with Bynums return.
More to the heading of this thread will Bynum be ready to Bang bodies with the NBA, my fear is he is young and wont be metally ready to come back from this injury.

We get out rebounded to be honest is because Gasol is a frail and weak center, w/ Bynum in the paint, players won't be able to push him around like Gasol.

Bynum 10.20 RPG
Gasol 8.60 RPG
Odom 10.10 RPG

No worries in the rebound department. They are already 4th in the league in rebounding and Bynum and Gasol have obviously never played in a game together.

How serious was Bynums injury?

But yeah with Bynum, Odom and Gasol were going to be a force on the glass.

What a frontline with Odom, Bynum and Gasol. When will Bynum be back? I hope they dont rush him but give him 1-2 weeks to ease back into full form before the playoffs.

Bynum has to be ready to bang...pdub15's hot mom. :)

No but seriously a big 7 footer who loves to box out, block everything out of his house, and pull out nasty dunks on people is EXACTLY what this team needs.

Toughness, rebounding, and tenacity are what we lack and Ariza and Bynum bring those two things.

What you all don't realize is April, May, and June NBA Basketball is not January NBA Basketball. It is going to be a way different ball game and Bynum is coming of an injury. He is literally going to have be ready to bang and grab every board like Dennis Rodman did with the Bulls. Odom is a tough rebounder. In my eyes Odom is the most underated rebounder in the league. Gasol is more of an offensive rebounder. Considering Gasol and Bynum will have had little time playing with each other come playoffs Bynum is going to elevate his rebounds to the staus of a Rodman to make up for that lack of playing together. It is really the only way to get to the NBA Finals through the difficult west. There was an article on Odom on MSN.com about Odom being the other guy but seriously the other guy is going to be Bynum. He has to be a monster on the glass and block shots. Look at what Shaq did on the boards against Portland last night. 13 rebs and good outlets to start some easy breaks. Bynum is going to have to grab boards like that and help get the Lakers some easy buckets outside of the triangle. By him doing that we will have a team that wear down teams in multiple ways. Plus with KB24 making his statement now that the P&G are taking over the West and getting that #1 seed Bynum coming back and doing that will make the rest of league on notice that the Championship has to come through LA. By the way I think Bynum is farther along than what the front office is letting on (It seems like a mind game tatic by Mitch and Phil?)

He's young. He's motivated. He's tired of sitting on the couch playing PS3. Andrew WANTS to play NOW.

He will be ready.
