With Vladimir Radmanovic coming off his injury he will see time. But while he was injuried i seen luke walton looking better on the court. I know alot of people dont think Luke was talent but i think he does. Radmanovic is a nice player dont get me wrong. But i think Luke is a better choice then Vlad.

What do you guys think?

Vlad without a doubt.

He stretches the floor more than Luke. IMO, when we picked up Gasol (a smart, good passer) Luke pretty much became obsolete. I like Luke on the floor primarily when Gasol is not.

I don't really know what need Luke fills as a starter. athletic? not really. scorer? nope. three threat? not anymore. good passer? we've got 2 of them in Kobe and Gasol.

Luke's pretty much the guy the defender can leave for the double team. not the same case with Vlad.

In a month Odom. Odom has shown he can hit that 18 footer ever since Gasol came. I don't know if there is a stat for it but he has been money from 18 feet away which is where he will be once the twin towers start.
For now though I actually say Sasha should start at the 3. His 3 point shot is to good and you cant double off him like you can the other 2.

either way it fine if either starts. Walton plays well with the second unit as he does with the starters. I like Radmanovic's shooting in the starting line tho. Vladimir playing with Fisher, Bryant, Odom, and Gasol. When Bynum comes back they will have no choise but to leave Radmanovic open, followed by Fisher and then Bryant.

SF:Radmanovic
PF:Gasol
C:Bynum
SG:Bryant
PG:Fisher

Luke has been playing great in the starting lineup. Id let luke start for now. Bring in vlad in the second unit to bust 3's with sasha. That would make us very deadly. Thats the way id keep it for now. In the playoffs we might have to switch it around. Depending on who the other team starts. But I like the fact that luke has been playing a lot better since starting.

You seen Luke Walton getting better? IMO he hasn't improved, he will have a good game here and there, but not enough to redeem himself from all the bad plays, fumbling balls, turnovers, bad passes, bricks he throws up as well as airballs. Man I love the Lakers so much but Luke is really a bad player. He looks horribly out there and sticks out like a sore thumb.

V-Rad is a much better offensive player, but can step up the D a little.

Again my opinion as you have yours.

Go Lakers.

I favor Luke just slightly, however I won't mind Rad starting. One thing I would like to see is Rad take couple more shots a game; he has a great shot so he just needs to build his confidence back up.

Vladrad every day of the week, and double headers on Sunday...

when everyone is back and healthy, we should assign Luke to the D League...I'm only half kidding.

This is the pros, step up Luke. Normally I am very patient with players as they develop, but Luke has no excuse and I am particularly unsympathetic when players follow outstanding contract years with this type of a let down.

hes a better shooter. and hes bigger and stronger and taller on the inside.

walton is a good passer.

we could use both.

Hey don't get me wrong, Luke is looking better lately. His passing has been very good, but his scoring is super streaky and his D isn't good at all. Rad's D is underrated. Not awesome, but underrated.

I'd go with Vlad because he's a much, much better shooter. I also don't recall him missing layups left and right. When I think of mistakes that Walton (and Odom for that matter) have made, the 1st thing that comes to my mind is that they always miss layups. Yes, I realize that Walton brings other things to the table, but it doesn't seem like we need them over what the others bring (Ariza = defense/slasher, Vlad = 3-point specialist).

I'm not sure what Walton's place is on this team when we're fully healthy, but we have to figure out where he fits in because he has the longest contract on the team, and we damn sure aren't going to be able to move him (same with Radman).

I think we have a bit of a log jam at both PF and SF, which is why I believe Odom is on his way out. Once that happens, I can see Vlad being our starting SF, with either Walton or Ariza backing him up. In situations where Turiaf is in foul trouble, we can play Vlad at PF for short spurts. The reason I think we'll be getting rid of Odom is simple. He makes way too much money to be our 4th option, and since we have both Radman and Luke tied up long term, releasing Odom free's up some cash that we can throw at Farmar and Bynum, both of who I think we have to consider before Odom.

It sucks that we might be losing Odom after how he's played recently, but what other choice do we have? Will Turiaf take next to nothing and will Odom take a serious pay cut? If so, then I can see us keeping him. Other than that, the Buss's are surely going to look for ways to get the team salary down to a respectable amount. As it stands, the teams salary will be at $75 million next year, and that doesn't include Turiaf and whoever we decide to sign at center (I believe we'll go after Kwame so we can let Mihm walk after next season).

Luke was once known as puke... but then he improved, but not in the conventional sense... he was just so terrible that an increase in any category made people go OMG he's so improved!!!

yes, luke improved just like smush parker improved... i mean smush went from journeymen to starter for the lakers averaging near 12 ppg! wow, that's improvement... but I dont believe anyone here would want smush as our starting PG regardless of how much he improved on the lakers...

same goes with luke... I mean yeah, he improved from completely terrible to serviceable role player, but he is not starter material when you look at the other SF's on this team...

you just have to adjust your expectations... we brought rad in to shoot the ball and space the floor and that's what he should do.. luke benefited from being picked by the lakers during a time when we had more terrible players than good ones. and he got lucky he caught his break when a bunch of our players were injured.

so rad all the way, but on this team as it stands they are both expendable overpaid bench players...

Luke shot is very inconsistant. KObe and Gasol will kick the ball on a double team, so we need players that can hit the shot, not over pass the ball. Sasha and Vlade is more important than Luke. Even Ariza would be better because of his defense.

Vlad no doubt. Luke is a joke. He's only good because he knows the triangle system really well. Now we have like 5 or 6 playmakers on the team and Luke is no longer needed.

He's not needed, but we're stuck with him.

Maybe Kobe needs to call his ass out, which I doubt will ever happen. If he could just develop a consistent jumper, he'd do wonders for this team. How hard can it be? All he ever gets is wide open shots. If he's such a smart player, why can't he develop a consistent jumper?

Knock on wood - But Vlad's gotta learn to be healthy in the playoffs. With Ariza down we cannot have too much of Luke!

Luke's made some really aweful passes now and again. I've always like look. Always been critical of him too.

If you combine Ariza, Luke, and Vlad into one player, you got Kobe.

Luke's shot is a bit off in the past couple games, but he's been shooting roughly 45% over the past few months. Not that bad.

He has thrown a few bad passes, but he's also dished it out brilliantly. There were also stretches in which he played terrific defense - I think early in the Dallas game.

He's just a bit uneven right now. I would give Radman a chance to play with the starting lineup. I just hope he plays hard every night, something that Walton does, despite his struggles.
