Kobe's Constant Complaining to the Refs

Post#1 » by FSUNOLE03 » Mon Mar 10, 2008 12:21 pm

I dont know what his deal is. I really think he is doing more harm than good with all this complaining. He gets the superstar calls just not all of them. Where did this come from with him having to complain on every shot that doesnt go in the basket?

Yeah, that bothers me too. He was doing pretty good in this department for some time this season (as I read Phil and he talked it over and he told Bryant that he has to be more careful with the refs), but every since that double T against Seattle he's been off the hook. I really don't get it, he knows the team can't afford him to miss games (3 techs and he will) and I'm sure the complaining doesn't help with the refereeing neither.

Kobe is a guy that when he gets angry, he is seething. After the Kobe tech against the Sonics, the refs are now his enemy.

Prove it. Every time I hear him yell it, he's got a legitimate reason.

I think the yelling helps because psychologically, it triggers a reation and by default since he is a superstar, he may get the call. However, what I dont like is complainng and not runnign back on D. Also, if he complains too much he lsoes credibility..and he has been more vocal and has complained in front of Cameras alot. He even complains a bit more now like 2-3 plays later.

Hopefully eh smartens up and shows leadership and resiliency like he did the first half of the season.

Yeah I'm getting tired of all of the complaining. It's definitely the part I like least about his game. He really needs to cut it out.

It's true though. Kobe, and pretty much the lakers starters outside of Vlad all complain way too much. At some point in the game you just got to shut up and play and let Phil deal with the refs. Not getting back on D too yell at the refs is unacceptable.

One thing is right: Kobe has reasons to complain many times.

Other thing: If he gets some more technical fouls, fair or unfairly, he will be suspended for some games right?

That will be bad :-?

i think kobe has decided to make up for the absence of bynum. bynum was becomig quite the complainer before he got hurt. everyone complains too much, we just happen to see the lakers do it every game cause thats who we watch.

turiaf is one of the BEST at taking responsibility for a call and not going crazy on the refs. he'll always turn his back to the ref, show some anger, eventually raise his hand, but never confront the ref.

End all the whining already. It should be like Rugby. Question a call or Lip off to the ref and it's an immediate penalty. Only the captain can speak and only momentarily during a dead ball.

I think they tried that at the beginning of last season? Took out the emotion of the game because refs were quick to hand out Ts. I think it's about right now, Kobe just pushes the button too much.

after the, what is it, 16th T and he has to sit out, wouldn't it be better just to get it over with now than in the playoffs? its bound that he might get it during the playoffs and then have to sit the suspension. I rather him just get T'd and sit out the game. I mean just don't yell @ the refs for nothing but just to make a point.

after the suspension, how many do you accrue to get the next level of punishment, and what is it? have to sit out another game?

Technical fouls don't carry over to the playoffs.

Kobe won't get more than 15 this season anyways. I'm sure he knows what the limit is.
