Houston signing Loren woods, dale davis still a free agent

Post#1 » by islander009 » Thu Mar 20, 2008 9:15 pm

hey guys i know this isnt that important because our guys arent really hurting, but would you guys consider signing dale davis-post defender for the playoffs. It doesnt seem like we are going to sign anybody like newble or green. but considering since we are weak inside and have been pushed around by teams with their physical play, wouldnt a call to see dale davis be a good idea? he is much older but holds playoff experience and will strictly give our defense a boost when we have gasol or bynum go to the bench? any thoughts?

davis does not provide the offensive output that we all like to see with bynum and gasol. Davis will provide the toughness in the middle, kind of like the temp. enforcer. Would be nice to see him come in to give bynum or gasol a break yet still providing some help to clog the middle. Post defense will be great considering that teams have shaq, dwight, tim, chandler. Hes no PJ brown or kurt thomas whom i thought we really should have had. but to help boost our defense it is worth it.

I'd rather get a perimeter defender. We'll be ok once Gasol and Bynum come back. Why take away mins from Turiaf? I doubt Davis would see any more mins than Mbenga

Dale Davis would be a he only option out there to get an enforcer off the bench. PJ Brown & Magloire were my first 2 choices. I would pick up Davis for the rest of the season now so Gasol and Bynum can go into the playoffs healthy and ready. Than during the offseason I would look to resign Turiaf & Sasha, split the MLE between Magloire and Gerald Green. Under Kobes wing Green would become Farmar's future backcourt buddy.

Champs this year and repeat next year with this line up:

Fisher/Farmar/Sasha
Kobe/Green/Coby
Odom/Luke/Ariza
Gasol/Turiaf/Vlad
Bynum/Magloire/Mihm

How did Maglorie go down so fast? He was an allstar and he is in sopposed to be around prime years right now. Mystery.
