Breakdown of our record this season

Post#1 » by VIPER8382 » Fri Mar 21, 2008 3:41 pm

With Gasol, no Bynum = 15-3
(I didn't count the game where Gasol got hurt as he only played a couple of minutes)

With Bynum, no Gasol = 24-11
(I counted the game where Bynum got hurt, since it was well into the 2nd half, and the game was already well in hand)

No Bynum, no Gasol = 8-7

With Bynum and Gasol = 0-0
(but I can't wait to find out)

The exciting part here is that with Bynum or Gasol in our lineup we are 39-14, and soon we should have both of them together. Add in the Ariza factor as a bonus ( we are 17-3 when Ariza plays at least 10 minutes ), and I am getting very excited for the playoffs. Just thought I would bring some good news to the table.

I just want to see the team come together and have couple of games with Bynum and Gasol in the lineup at the same time.

I truley belive when Kobe has 10 fingers next year (assuming he is smart enough not to let himself get to tired or hurt in the olympics) and Gasol and Bynum are healthy the Lakers have a great chance if healthy to break the win record.
This is no homerism here but I truley believe Mitch has somehow someway woke up this year and made this team the best team ever made.
The only problem is the league is the deepest it's been in history but I still believe the Lakers are that good. I believe the Lakers have 4 legit allstars (Odom becomes an allstar when there is no pressure to be the #2 man and on top of that 2 of the stars are C/PF and one of them imo is the best player ever.

It deserves to be said again 1st place but just imagine what it will be next year with a full training camp a healthy Kobe, Bynum, Gasol, Odom and Farmar and Bynum a year older and better.
This will be a dynasty and one that rivals and possibly beats the Magic Kareem Lakers.

I am not saying watch they will be I am saying they have real potential to and here is why, and for the record potential does not mean it will happen but it could happen

1.Kobe Bryant is the best player in the game.
2.Odom and Gasol are in there prime or about to be.
3.Bynum is a Center and in 2-4 years could be a top 2 center in the league.
4.Hall of fame coach
5.GM who is making moves like gm of the year
6.They are deep and have arguably 4 players who can be starting coming off the bench.

Now if everything goes perfect and they reach there real full potential at every aspect you tell me a team that had more going for it and why.
Also the Celtics you were referring to was that the Bill Russell Celtics because it's a little redicoulus to compare a team from 200 years ago who played where the talent and defense and just game alone is nowhere what it is now. I mean the evolution of the D alone makes it uncomparable. There were no Lebrons and just flat out athletes like that back then. I mean the league was pretty white back then.
I think if you take that team and play it vs these Lakers at there peak who do you take?

Only if we have a young Jordan on our team.

Kareem > Bynum and Gasol combined

Magic > everyone else

of course a team from today would beat a team from "200 years ago" with the strength and training of today's athletes, but if the playing field could some how be leveled so that celtics team would be a team of this era(physically, etc) i think i'd take the celtics team
it was loaded with hall of famers and our lakers only have one right now
and Russell wasn't a flat out athlete?

worthy, byron scott, micheal cooper???

the showtime era team went to the finals 9 times and won 5 championships against some of the best teams EVER be fielded in the NBA. this was before the talent pool dilution that factored in when the nba heavily expanded in the late 80's-90's.

and up till now magic>kobe. not saying that can't change but that's a fact.......as of now.

B.S. it's not a fact. Something like that can never be a fact. Kobe is the best player in a better era. If Magic was playing today don't you think Lebron could be considered better?
Either way the old Lakers will end up being more of a dynasty probably because of the longevity but take this team in there prime (which hasn't happened yet) with all there potential vs that team there best year and I take this one.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
