He said he was thankfull to Nike for standing by him through his case.
He should of said the same thing this past summer for the lakers instead of wanting to get traded.

How is it funny?
He first talked about his shoe release, then addressed a question somebody asked him in a larger forum.
Kobe was responding to the question, "How he as an athlete felt about the Olympics and the Civil Rights controversy in China."
He was asked as an athlete, not a Nike spokesman. And he didn't avoid the question, he gave a stand up answer.
"We could use the opportunity to try to turn a negative into a positive. And the positive being is raising awareness for what's going on. And i think if there's a silver lining in this whole situation, I think that could be it. There's a stage now created for the whole word to see what's going on, and for everybody to kind of jump in and help out."
That's an articulate, appropriate response.

its funny because he is going up and trying to address these human rights issues and he is a coverboy for nike, one of the biggest human rights violaters

your posts remind me of a guy who told Magic#32 that he had been to Cancun after he was told that Magic#32 was from Spain.
