Emplay latest post on LG is that Bynum is officially out for 6 more weeks. This is not good. He did not provide a link though.

I hope emplayed stays consistent and is completely wrong about this one.

Looks like maybe I am not as paranoid as I thought and hoped.
If he misses the first round to me we are pretty much screwed this year. Honestly I was prepared for this and I am just hoping by next year he will be 100% and it will be like it never happened and Kobe stays healthy and either misses the olympics to have the surgery or he doesn't injury himself more has the surgery and is fine.
If this Bynum thing is true Kobe should just have the surgery, Fisher should not play and they should not risk there careers for this season. Next season will be a championship lock if healthy and I don't think they should risk it just to get to round 2 or late round 1 when they have no shot.

Lakers center Andrew Bynum had not been cleared for full practices or to play and is doubtful for the start of the playoffs.
There is no specific date set for his return, the Lakers said today.
Bynum was examined by a knee specialist in New York on Wednesday. "Andrew will continue with his therapy program and workouts with the Lakers' training staff and will continue to be monitored until he can return to playing status," Dr. David Altchek said

Doesn't look good guys. We might just have to make this run with Pau, Lamar, and Kobe.

This is horrible. It seems like all season we take three steps forward, then take two steps back. Unbelievable. I guess we just have to look at it like we traded Kwame and Bynum for Pau, and just try to make a run at it as is. Without Bynum, we need our defense to step up BIG. Pau especially. He's going to have to get tougher in the paint, and start calling for the ball more. He should be taking 15-20 attempts per game.

hahaha................there is nothing in either article where a lakers official even mentions 6 weeks. it's pure speculation based on the writer's source. and correct me if i'm wrong but this writer's source(s) has been more than questionable in the past. did this source give us a heads up on gasol???????? did any of the so called sources?????
from all credible sources i read into it as bynum not being back during the regular season and hopefully be back in the first round. even when phil mentions bynum playing sunday, he seems very sceptical so this is pretty much the same vague stance the lakers have been taking. the lakers need to get a matchup against one of the lower 3 seeded teams in the first round............the suns and a revitalized shaq would not be good.

I hope So!! For some reason it seems like we'll never get to see Bynum and Pau take the floor together. That's all I ever wanted to see since we got Pau. I just wanted to see how this team would look like with both of them on the floor at the same time. THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!!

Its for the best....We will still be fine maybe even make the finals...and if or when we lose all you guys can keep screamin' about "We didn't have Bynum dogg" "wait till next year...watch how we dominate"
This year we will do good, we might win and Kobe might be MVP
Next year we got this ish wrapped up, I'm happy with where we are.

I just want to get out of the first round. Having the same result as the last 2 years after all the improvements we've made would be devastating. But at least we know that we're contenders so the losses won't be as bad as they previously were. But still. We're so close I can taste it. We just need our whole team together.

Think about MANG , last year at this same time or for the past three years we had Cake boy ,Smush , our bench sucked , Bynum wasnt Bynum , we didnt have Fish , Pau , Sashas head was up in Paris Hiltons you know what and we almost beat the Suns .
This year we are a whole new team , everyone has picked up their games and we can't allow this to get to us .
So what we havent had Bynum for a while now .
Did anyone ever think that even when he came back that he was going to lead us to the title ..............NO
I didnt .
So what the big deal , what is the difference from last year to now .
Again we have a whole new team .
All we can hope for is L.O stays consistant and Pau can get help this team to get past the second round , Kobe can carry this team on his back yet again and then lets hope we can make it to the finals ............

One good thing I've noticed about the Pau Gasol lakers, is that they show up and do well in Big nationally televised games. Hopefully this remains true during the playoffs. It's the regular non-hype games against scrappy teams that we show up slow against.
