Good stuff. Now we've just gotta win out and hope Houston loses 1. Then we get Denver in the 1st round and Utah/Houston in the 2nd.

I semi-called it!

Sedale Threatt wrote:IMO, the only chance we have of catching the Hornets is if they lose tonight against the Kings. I wouldn't count on it, but they're no pushover at home, and the Hornets expended max effort last night. If we can drop clunkers to Memphis and Charlotte (damn I wish we could have one of those back), they can definitely drop the end of a back-to-back at Arco.

Our destiny is in our own hands. These next two games are going to be nerve-wracking.

This makes Sundays game against the Spurs even bigger. We need to win out 2 get that #1 seed. Homecourt is huge for us. Facing Denver or Warriors in the 1st and Utah/Houston in the 2nd. Plus making San Antionio battle Phoenix in the 1st and NO battle Dallas. That is huge. The west is tough no matter who you play but I'd rather have that homecourt advantage.

Manu won't play tomorrow so we have to handle our business. Get this done.

I forgot about Houston damn. Don't the Hornets own some tie breakers against them that keeps them above Houston.

Nevermind I just saw it the Hornets have a better division record than the Rockets as long as the Lakers win out Houston is not a problem.

No sweat, we only hang championship banners at Staples.

Seriously, I have to admire the energy the fans brought tonight at Arco. You'd never guess the Kings are out of playoff contention. I also think you guys got a real winner in Reggie Theus. That's turning out to be a great hire.

if we beat san antonio ..houston would become 1st

Its a trip that Houston can get the 1st seed without yao ming. Pehaps T-Mac will be in the MVP equation along with Kobe, CP3 and King james.

No, then we'd be a game up pending the results of their road game at Denver that evening.

I haven't read up on all the possible scenarios, but I believe the only way Houston has a shot at home-court is to win their division. NO has the tie-breaker by virtue of better division record, so the Rockets have to sweep their last three and hope NO drops one of its last two. Otherwise, I'm almost positive we win the West if we win out.

Keep in mind, the Rockets also have to play at Utah, the toughest home venue in the NBA, on Monday. I won't write them off, but the Rockets need a lot of things to break their way in order to get the top seed.

if the Hornets stay at 25 losses the Rockets won't go hire than 3 because of their 8-8 record against their own division. And don't count out Denver tomorrow they may have played tonight but their at home tomorrow plus their desperate to remain in the playoffs.
