OT whining?

http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archi ... ba_to_act/ although i agree with taking the top 16 teams to the playoffs, for them to bring this up now while they are fighting for the last spot reminds me of popovich crying over the gasol trade.

I think Karl and Nelson are right....Why should a team with 48 wins have to go home while a team with 37 wins has a chance to win the NBA championship? I love the idea of 16 top teams, going for the title!

A team with 37 wins doesn't have a chance to win an NBA championship. The Celts are not letting any of those ass-cats through. They'll be there waiting for the winner of what's bound to be a dog-fight in the west.

The idea is that a team like the Celtics can have failry easy match ups playing teams like the Hawks or Pacers in the first round and then someone like the Wizards in the 2nd whereas the top seed in the West will have to beat multiple 50 win teams, which means more games and fatigue on the players when they make it to the finals.

1-16 would be pretty fair from a competitive stand point but its practicality from a business and entertainment point of view is something that has to be thought about.

A playoff race like this year dosen't happen very often and to suggest a change like that would be jumping the gun. It sounds good this year but the teams below the 8th seed in each conference should miss out as always. Their records just shows that the west is better, being that you need more wins to survive in this conference.

Also like stated even though I like the hawks squad, I dont see them getting by the celtics. Once a few of the older teams begin to drop in the food chain ( SAS, DAL) the records will begin to even out. Change is not always best and in the case of the postseason things have been fine for quite awhile.

^im sorry man but warriors, nuggets, Portland, kings, and healthy clippers next year deserve the playoffs spot then those not so hungry teams in the leastern conference. hell these are the guys thats going to be much more threat to us next season. We want much more leverage for being in the west as well.
