OT: Possible huge rivals LA vs LA?

Post#1 » by Dexmor » Sun Apr 13, 2008 6:00 pm

They say Mayo is destined to have a Kobe/Jordan type career but he is not quite as big or athletic yet I don't know why he is not projected 2nd and possibly first. Anyway if the Clippers actually end up with the 3rd pick and get Mayo they will have an excellent team with Kaman becoming a dominant C like Bynum did this year. They to will have 4 allstar caliber players.

Kaman-Bynum
Brand- Gasol
Cory- Odom
Mayo- Kobe
?-Fisher/Farmar

That is some serious juice they got going. I think we have a clear cut advantage with Bynum and Kobe and even though Brand is better then Gasol they are both great. I think under normal curcomstances Cory might be better then Odom but in this situation Odom is clearly better.

It's very possible even though the West is so damm deep and so competitive that next year or in 2 years from now the West is dominated by LA.

I am just saying with Brand going down they could have a Duncan situation and Kaman breaking out at the same time. I agree we will still be the favs. With all 4 of us healthy we can't be beat. I am not even sure if I want Brand over Gasol because Gasol might be a better fit.

I still dont know why Mayo is seen as the next greatest player.

IMO, he will be a Luol Deng/Travis Outlaw type player.

I dunno why, but thats all I see in him.

The clips most likely will loose Corey this summer, and Brand may be on his way out of clipper land sometime soon ass well.

I would hate to be a clipper fan due to their inability to put together a good team and keep it together.

As far as Mayo..i think he is overated and once he plays with the big guys it will expose how small he actually is

Yep he's tired of Dunleavy and the games he keeps playing with him.

Don't understand why Mayo won't go 2nd in the upcoming draft? It's because Derrick Rose is better than Mayo.

Anyway, I don't think the Clippers will be better than the Lakers anytime soon. The Clippers will have to worry about resigning EB before anything else.

i think u just read me wrong or i just quoted u wrong...but..i was disagreeing witht he fact that u said hes going to be a luol deng or travis outlaw...when he is much more like gilbert arenas then any of the two u stated..

a 20/4/5 player is what i see from mayo but with a handfull of turnovers

if people thought mayo was the next kobe/jordan he wouldn't be going 6th overall.

edit: anywhoo, i gained a lot of respect for mayo's game having seen him at usc. he seems like a very smart player that lets the game come to him. he's not the gunner that i thought he'd be.

Id like to see the Clips draft Mayo n pick up arenas if he opts out. Theyd be a pretty good team even if Maggette opts out..

Kaman
Brand
Thornton
Mayo
Arenas
