playoff scenario?

Post#1 » by LAKESHOW » Mon Apr 14, 2008 1:19 am

is there a clarification on a report that was made on abc7.

the report was that if the rockets, new orleans, LAKERs have tied records at the end of the season, THE LAKERS ARE 3RD?

sorry if theres a thread on this already, didnt see information posted.

thanks.

I could be wrong but if the Lakers win out they cannot finish no worst than 2nd.

may be moot

It may be a moot point if Houston loses, but on espn.com it says that the lakers have clinched no worse than #3 seed. If there is a three way tie with New Orleans and Houston then the Lakers would get the #3 seed. Again, reporting what is in the espn.com article on the game.

KingLakers wrote:I was just at NBA.com I was reading the tiebreakers. According to that if more than 2 teams finish with identical records the highest seed is decided by which team has the best winning percentage against the other teams they are tied with. So if this info is right Houston takes the number 1 seed because the are 4-3 against the Lakers and Hornets. Lakers are 3-4 against the Hornets and Rockets. And the Hornets are 4-4 against the Rockets and Lakers. Those two losses against Charlotte and Memphis are looking huge right now.

It's early but Houston is losing 44-61 at denver. So maybe it won't even matter.

Not necessarily....If Denver losses and GS wins it out, GS will have the eight seed due to a better record. We'll just have to wait and win against Sac town.

I know, you guys are thinking "who's this dude", but i'm a long time lurker. I live in LA and have been a Laker fan since the days of Van Excel and Jones in the back court.
