Laker Fans: Be Careful!

I'm just as happy as you guys to be the number one seed in the Western Conference, as well as what we've accomplished this season despite being ravaged by injuries. Heed my warning: we cannot get to cocky! These guys (the Nuggets) are a serious group of guys!

This feeling of superiority reminds me of a certain season about four years ago when we took on an obscure yet talented Detroit Pistons team. They ripped us apart and ended a Dynasty that was still supposed to be alive even now. Let's stay humble and win these games. Some of us are being to cocky. Let's chill. Fine with everyone?

lol you do realize that most people on this board already started a 2nd round thread? And you do realize that some of the guys on this board thinks we already won the championship? So no I highly doubt majority of this board will stay humble, but at least we have people to blame if we happen to not make the finals.

People think we won the 'ship? Really?

I'd like to think I'm a pretty positive-minded Lakers fan, but I have almost no faith that we'll be winning it this year.

Tell that to the Celtic Fans =)

Anyways, the way I see it, I don't find it too far fetched to see us going to the WCF at LEAST.
The only team I see us having problems with are the Spurs, Rockets, Suns.

Best case scenario we play the
Nuggets 1st Round (3-0 regular Season Record)
Jazz 2nd Round (3-1 Regular Season Record)
Suns WCF (3-1 Regular Season Record)
Anyone but the Celtics Finals

the above taking place is a realistic road to the Championship :)

Melo+AI could kill any team.

Great D inside with with camby, K-mart and nene if healty. A couple of wing players ready to D as well in L.Kleiza and Najera. The weakest position is PG, like we do.

So..... I think this series are more difficult than if we go to the second round with utah or roxs......

Good advice

(someone soon will open a thread saying: "wich team you preffer to the WCF"?

AI and Kobe are both tremendous competitors but I believe our team's chemistry/depth will prevail.

As long as the Lakers play solid defense and play smart on offense (execute and take advantage of who's guarding Kobe) we shouldn't have too much of a problem winning this series.

-I heard one guy suggest Kobe move to the SF position and make AI/Melo guard him. We all know JR Smith / Kleiza / Anthony Carter don't have a chance slowing down Kobe.

-I don't know how the Nuggets fair against opponents while scoring under 100pts, but I feel if we can hold them under 95, they're screwed; they don't play consistent enough defense to stop us (it's too bad I don't get to see AI face Paul in the 1st round, damn)

Bottom line, if we can keep them under 95pts we have an excellent chance to win, and I believe we can.

Should be a fun series to watch.

What, me worry? **** that.

I didn't say we'll win...but I do hope we'll beat the Nuggets and whoever comes then...

What ? Of course you can't be sure of anything, but you do have the right to predict a bit knowing how this team is playing lately !

Stay humble with hope, would sound better !

I just do not get it why this thread was created ? Stay we humble or not, we won't have to play the Nuggets, but our players who are true professionals and are aware of what is gonna happen to them if they don't stay "humble".

Do you think if many Laker fans don't stay humble the Lakers will be defeteated ? We haven't been in this situation since 2004 ! Do we have the right to get overjoyed a bit ? I suppose I personally do !
Speaking realistically, we can win it all...

Useless...go and tell Kobe and other players to stay humble...

Sup dude.

I might be active soon again, but don't get your hopes up just yet.

I'm more pumped for the playoffs this year around; we have the players/coaching staff to go the distance.

Good to see you again, I missed this forum.

I'd blame the guys who continue to talk about how good we are and how easy the nuggets will be.

Its funny seeing anyone being cocky who will do nothing but sit in front of a television tomorrow.

You have no control over the game, you can't back up a single word.

Be humble.
