Kobe is playing with a hurt pinky all season, you don't use injury as an excuse all the time. He was suppose to play like this in the season, but i'm glad he turned it around in the playoffs.

nice dodge...seriously people right here were saying he was garbage, worst signing ever blah blah blah, guy has been hurt all season, and no very few people let alone players have kobes drive, so that isnt really a fair comparison....

anyway....

are you actually comparing a pinky injury to an ankle injury? that is like comparing Coby to Bynum.

i wasn't trying to compare it, i was just saying kobe is playing with an injury and he's not making excuses. Pau Gasol played with an ankle injury for a while to when he came back. I was just saying he should have learned how to play with the ankle injury after 50+ games of playing with it and contribute on the floor.

I'll be the first to admit I was a avid Luke hater but hes stepped his game up in the playoffs. Same with Odom. I can remember yelling at the TV "DUNK THE BALL ODOM" He dunks alot more in the playoffs. He saves his legs. Pretty smart. But then again this is the Nuggets... Thier D can make anyone look like a superstar.

In the season he was missing WIDE open shots, i'm sure you can adjust to make wide open shots after having an ankle injury for so long.

I'm glad he's playing like how he was suppose to play when he signed that big contract.

He sucked in the regular season and he deserved to get dissed. He is having a great post season, he deserved to get props.

luke wasnt either, and neither am i...there exist a substantial difference between an explanation and an excuse...

and i dont remember you being one of the haters, so my battle isnt with you, the cats around here know who they are, and suspect they will be little caspers from here on out....

being called out is one thing, being labeled "utter garbage" is quite another....

dude was injured, has played very well the last three or four weeks...

Never been a huge Luke fan, never will be. He's a very smart player, but boring as hell to watch even when he's on his game

Most people on the Laker board post according to how the player is playing at that time, no matter what. If Kobe has an off game, he gets ripped. If LO has an off game, he gets ripped. If Luke has an off game, he gets ripped. Most people are pretty fair around here.

I was very critical of Luke but I don't post much and my criticisms are old. I knocked him because he's slow, so he gets beat of defense. His jumpshot was really inconsistent, which minimized his effectiveness on offense (e.g. Why chase after him around a screen when he wouldn't hit the shot? He'll be looking to pass the ball anyway). I didn't think he'd develop enough as a more complete player to progress beyond a limited role. Still not a Luke "fan" but I do appreciate what he is capable of doing for this team much more so than I have in the past.

Intangibles are great, but his value might be higher on this Laker team than the teams of past years, which had weak rosters with players that didn't go mix with Luke's skill set. He complements good players better (duh).

Its pretty simple to me.

If you play like crap, you are going to get credited for playing like crap. If you play good, you are going to get credited for playing good. Luke played most of the regular season like crap, thus people said he was playing like crap. Now, Luke is playing pretty awesome in the 3games so far in the playoffs, and people are praising him for his good play.

^ It usually works like this.... unless you are a superstar, popular player, etc.. it usually causes polarizing effects (Ex. Kobe... damned if he does, damned if he doesnt).

EDIT: Iamworthy already said the same thing pretty much. I agree with you! :D
