What day is the MVP announced?

2nd round right? Anyone know when Kobe joins the rank of the best in history?
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

They usually give that award out immediately after a team wins 4 games in the finals.

Wrong. Usually first round and sometimes second.

Obviously, you are talking about the Finals MVP and are making a sarcastic comment that in a sense derails the conversation in this thread. You should know better.

To the OP - Historically the regular season MVP is handed down during the second round.

Usually the first or second game of the 2nd round.. so that will be in Staples. Ok ok I won't jinx it.. :D

I've been thinking this as well...

I know that its given in the 2nd round; however, i thought there was sort of an unoffical announcement of the results before the MVP is actually awarded. I thought it was sometime around now?? I dont know though...

Here is how the past 3 have been awarded:

Nash fourth point guard to win MVP (May 7, 2005)

Nash wins MVP award for second straight year (Updated: May 7, 2006)

Nowitzki is first European to be named MVP (May 16, 2007)

I can't wait any longer. :)
