If we end up dealing Lamar next season...

How about we rob Dallas?

I've been watching this kidd Brandon Bass. He is bulit like a heavy weight and is beast on boards and defense. Very good ft shooter and finishes strong around the rim. Maybe snatch JTerry along the way.

if the lakers trade lamar, it won't be for another pf. the holes that need to be filled are sf and pg

He can certainly play SF. Guy is pretty quick. I wouldn't do it if we don't get something with him tho. Terry would solidify the guard positions.

Bass is good. But I have watched him play all season and he is not better than Lamar. Not even close. He is not quick enough for an SF and his range and offense is limited and his defense is limited.

He has some decent games and thats about it. Nothing spectacular.

It would be a downgrade for us and getting JET is not something we covet. He is a streak shooter and we have plenty of them ( cheaper)

i say we go after Artest, Wallace, R-Jefferson, Nocioni, or Butler. Odom is on of the forwards in the league. Hes long enough to play at the 4 spot, and also has the skills of a 3, which is his natural position. i wont expect nothin less than the players listed above who are all experianced players in this league. We need players who can come in IF LAL doesnt keep LO, and play hard... the rebuilding stage for the Lakers is done. Their in the stage were they are considered one of the elites in the league again.

I say we wait for Drew and Ariza to come back so we can actually see our team at full strength before we decide LO's future.

We also want to consider future. If we can get younger better SF than lamar better it is. Bass has potential I like his attitude. He is the only Mav right now hustling. Thats more than enough to lay the hammer.

Bass is not a SF. He is a small PF. He is 6-8 240.

dude, bass is a pf. he completely lacks the outside game that's needed from the sf position. he works well with the mavs because dirk plays outside as a pf. they basically play with 2 pfs one inside and one out when bass is in the game.

i'd rather stick with odom at the sf. i'm still hoping to see how he can adjust to that position with bynum in the lineup but i'm not sure we'll get to see that.

Brandon Bass? Rob Dallas? Brandon Bass is an above average PF or maybe just average. Odom is better and the real issue is if and probably when we trade Odom it will be for a peremiter 3 man who is a good defender considering we have a superstar 4 in Gasol and a 5 in Bynum. Think Gerald Wallace or Ron Artest or Richard Jefferson or somebody like that. If we can't get a wing we probably won't trade him but we will be able to get one. I am thinking Deng might be possible seeing as Chicago clearly needs a change but we would have to sweeten the pot a little more and maybe give them Walton and Farmar to.
The perfect deal is Ron Artest with the Lakers defense and Kobe would save some much energy on both ends of the floor.

And how would you expect Bass to spread the floor with Gasol and Bynum both on the court?

how about we keep Odom and just spread the minutes out at the 4 and 5? I don't know how Odom will work out at sf, but we'll win championships for the next 4+ years with Odom, Gasol, and Bynum. Plus somebody on our roster always gets hurt. Any combination of 2 of those 3 is a sick frontcourt if someone goes down.
