Some reason I believe this guy....
In Laker news, about two weeks ago, I was in Los Angeles at a local watering hole having a drink, when I had a chance meeting with an old friend with deep ties within the Laker organization. The subject of Andrew Bynum came up and I was commenting on how good it would be to have him back on the Lakers for the play offs. Anyway, he turns around and says to me,

if there is any truth to this andrew bynum should be practicing with the team this week off and should debut game one. if he doesn't, then he's not fine.

Honestly when I was in Sac town and I did post this as well.
I saw Bynum with my own eyes practicing with the team .
He seemed like he was doing just fine .

The thought of Pau,Bynum,Lo all in the front court in the playoffs just brings tears to my eyes. Thats almost 21 feet of Laker fury!

He'll be needed for the Spurs so he'll need to be 80 percent minimum (Rambis's words) by then - prob around May 14 - 17 depending on how fast both rd2 series go.
I call bs on the orinal rumor.

theyre probably just delaying it til they really need him like conference finals or finals and imo there are more positives than negatives to doing that

suppose this is "true". is it alright for a team to "fake" that a player is still injured and then suddenly bring him back 100% outta no where?

I don't see why not. A team would be putting themselves at a disadvantage by purposely leaving one of their best players out, even if they are playing a team they are supposed to beat. I know we were all confident going into the series with Denver, but the Lakers would be lying if they said they wouldn't feel better going into the series with a healthy Bynum.

There saving him for the spurs in the WCF

Drew is a key piece to the championship puzzle and our franchise player for the next 15 years (once Kobe and Pau hang 'em up). I wouldn't be surprised if Drew was ready to go right now at like 80%. However, the Lakers aren't even going to think about it untill he's completely, no-doubt-about-it 100% healthy. I for one agree with them.
Take as many precautions as necessary with the kid. We're gonna need him here for a long, long time.

I've been saying this for the longest time even before the playoffs started: Andrew is 100% ok and is actually ready to play. I won't say where and how I got the info (you know how so many people have already gotten in trouble by posting on message boards)
I'll put it this way-- think about it as "catching the opposition off guard".
There.

During the Nike Hyperdunk launch in the Nike headquarters in Beaverton Oregon last month. Someone asked Kobe about Bynum returning to the line-up. Kobe said that he was already practicing with the team and traveling with them. To what extent Bynum practices wasn't disclosed. However, that was before the playoffs and before PJax made those comments.
