I don't know if it's because there are a lot of asians on this board or what. But why do people keep putting his name with Magic Johnson as if he is going to live up to be half as good as Magic is. I've seen this kid play and he's a bum. Nothing to get excited about. He's slow and overrated. I'd rather not bring him on and bring back that Larry Turner kid. We could always use another big body.

becuase he is a 6'9" pg. and when you think of a gigantic pg, you think of magic.

My little brother is 13 and has a girlfriend in his grade. Does that make him Karl Malone?

1. Is she pregnant?
2. Is your brother claiming the child?

Guys he wasn't even a first round pick. I don't understand why people think he is gonna be so good or worth keeping track of. He went 48 th overall for a reason.

by what would jack bauer do?
^rafer alston, cuttino mobley, michael redd, manu ginobili, bobby simmons, earl watson, james jones, keith bogans, mo williams, kyle korver, steve blake, and even ramon sessions say hello! There is a lot more 2nd round talent playing in the nba right now too.

If you're going to attack a part of Sun Yue's game lets attack his complete lack of lateral quickness at the pg level, his shaky jumper, and his unproven ability to play the physical NBA game. He might just overcome all his flaws and be a player though. Don't give me that second round crap though. Trevor Ariza, Luke Walton, and Ronny Turiaf would be disappointed.

Sun's a surprisingly solid defender, he is an assist machine, and he's shown glimmers of hope for his shot. He needs a ton more strength, experience, and shot fundamentals. I like his potential alot. What he does with it... we shall see.

And no I'm not asian, and I don't think even asians on this board are supporting him just because he is. It's more likely to be the the great nicknames:

Sun "I'm gonna dunk on" Yue

You just got Sun'd

no........your brother would need to be freshman at college banging his 13 year old girlfriend

^ Actually, he'd need to be a Soph in college banging his 13 yo girlfriend. Mailbait was a Soph in 1983-84 at LaTech when he was 20.

He's an intriguing player. He's tall, he can handle, pass, drive...and make some spectacular blocks at the rim. He's got good foot speed down the court and excellent anticipation.

All those skills make him an interesting prospect, which is probably the reason why the Lakers picked him, unless Mitch Kupchak is really a secret asian man.

Found this recap of his past year - Limited stats but some interesting facts:

Sun Yue competed in the NBA Summer Pro League (Las Vegas, Nevada) with the Chinese national team in the summer of 2007. Team China was the only International team competing against 16 other NBA teams. This was seen as a chance for the Chinese National Team to gain further experience against International competition before heading for the Olympics. At the Orlando Pre-Draft camp, his measurements stood at 34" vertical, 6'9" wingspan, 8'9" standing reach, 5.1% body fat, and 10.68 in lane agility. During the 2007 NBA Draft, Sun was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers during the second round as the 40th overall pick.

On the China national basketball team, Sun Yue has alternated coming off the bench with Chen Jianghua, behind starting point guard Liu Wei. He was initially forecast as the top point guard for China by the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, with his exceptional size and passing ability, but with the rise of Chen, there is now doubt as to who will be the better point guard in the future.

Sun Yue also participated in the 2007 Stankovic Continental Championship and played crucial roles in winning against Venezuela and New Zealand. He also competed in the NBA China Games with the Chinese National Team against the Orlando Magic. Sun Yue ended up with an excellent record tally of 8 pts, 4 assists, and 1 block shot in 24 minutes. In brief this is the story so far about Sun, which had its highs & lows moments of brilliance and also surrounded by controversies.
