Has Pau made his own FG yet?

Post#1 » by Kobay » Fri May 9, 2008 4:14 pm

I don't think I saw gasol make much of his own shots this series. He hasn't drain jumpers or hooks shots unless they were assisted wide open shots or under the rim kind of passes. Anyone have stats for how many made unassisted shots he has so far in the POs.

i think he has but not as many, playing a center in the triangle were passes are dictated by the reaction of your opponent those lobs or assists to him are all we need to keep on chugging....btw living in la the lakers car banners is becoming the new rage

Does it matter?

This team is clicking and ball movement is close to excellent. The only Laker really to make their own shot is Kobe. I'd rather see 24 baskets on 20 assists any game.

i don't think it matters much, he can create his own shot, but he doesn't need to so its easier for him
just dunks and layups, then he can focus of defense

He had that sweet up-and-under dunk on Okur in Game 2.

When basketball is played the right way, no one makes "their own FG's".

Yes, that was a sweet baseline move with the shot clock expiring. I would like to see Gasol do that a little more.

When we play with crisp ball movement like we have this post season we are almost unbeatable. Pau probably leads the league in points in the paint in the post season because of this. Our offense is a product of the triangle.

That was sweet, but then again, I'm a little bothered that I can't remember anything else he did

No, Gasol was getting outrebounded throughout this series, and he didn't get to the free throw line tonight because he wasn't getting a good seal on Okur, and he turned the ball over due to the pressure defense. I think he also got legitimately fouled a few times, but he wasn't getting any calls. He shot 0 free throws tonight.

He needs to be more active. He needs to try to grab more boards. We also need to figure out how to get him more touches in the paint. He's a good passer who can hit cutters.

I expect in game 4, we run a few more pick and rolls with Gasol and Kobe, and maybe Gasol needs to go back to his face-up midrange shot, and establish a high post game.

Pau had 5 turnovers, and looked at the ref every time he lost the ball and missed a shot. Just awful

Gasol is having a hard time getting good position when Okur is guarding him. I think Okur outweighs him by like 15 to 20 pounds and Okur is a solid post defender.

It looks like the Jazz are trying to take away Gasol's easy baskets and make him have to get his points from the low post.
