It's true, they left him hanging in isolation. Nobody wanted anything to do with the ball in OT, they just stood back and watched. No cuts, dives, screens, nothing.

I Agree. I saw many sequences where they give the ball to Kobe and dont move. Kobe waits and looks for movement and nothing. I even mentioned the in the game thread.

They gave the ball to Kobe and stood still.

Kobe's teammates get the blame once again. Personally i think it's Phil Jackson not trying get on Kobe when he screws up because of there relationshp when Shaq was here when Phil called him out in his book. Phil is putting all blame on Kob teammates even when it's not there fault.

It was very clear in that overtime that all Kobe wanted to do was shoot. It had nothing to do with his teammates bailing out on him. His intention was to shoot and be the guy who saved the day with his back injury.

I'll give Kobe a pass on this one, but if it's game 7 and Lamar is 13-21 for 26 points, Fisher, Gasol and Sasha shoot very well, and Kobe is like 13-34 and the Jazz win Game 7 then your going to hear a lot of Kobe failed to recognize the hot had when it mattered the most. He will start getting a reputation of being one of the most talented players to ever play the game, but doesnt execute well in close games in the playoffs like MJ, Magic, Bird.

Its not that they bailed on him. Utah freakin locked us up. Kobe was dribbling the ball looking for everyone but time ran out he forced shots. There was nothing we could do. Utah defended well in OT we didn't on the other end. We allowed

32 assists on 40/76 fg.

Learn to play some freaking defense lakers you god damn suck at it!!!!!!!

the reason lamar, gasol, fisher were so hot was because of kobe being doubled and most their points were layups or open 3's, so if they weren't going to double kobe near the end what is he suppose to do? give the ball to lamar and let him create his own shot because he was hot from making put backs and layups? I didnt like kobes shot selection but he normally makes those shots, and when he does nobody says anything about it.

eh, lamar created a lot of shots for himself this game. a lot more than usual. the jazz simply couldn't consistently defend lamar's patented left handed drive.

7 of his 10 fgs were unassisted.

I think its 50-50

I think phils designed play in the o.t was to isolate kobe make him penetrate so he can command a double team and pass it to a cutting/open teammate or, if he gets a good look at the basket ( a layup or a dunk) take it

but the problem is, it was really obvious that kobe's injury got worst in the o.t, he cant get pass AK, the jazz were able to play kobe 1 on 1, so no one got an open look and too make things worst no one cut to the basket everyone were just watching kobe

kobe should have told phil he cant get pass his man, so phil can design a different play ( I think this is kobe's weakness)
