I say Hornets for one simple reason: Bowen. Nobody defends Kobe better.

Bowen has been on decline this year and hasnt done anything in the playoffs this year and also CP worries me. Spurs are more expirienced group but more tired probably, the Hornets play great so it's a though call.

But than again from what i have seen from Lakers it doesnt really metter, in my oppinion this series was thoughest of all and we will crush everyone from here on.

I'm incline to agree. I would rather deal with chris Paul than deal with Duncan, Parker, and Manu. I hope Stojakovic will be guarding Kobe, that would be how do the army say "ONE SHOT ONE KILL"

Part of me wants to face the Spurs more than anything I feel if we can beat them then the title is ours for the taking. The reason I want to face the Spurs is because they have been ther ad done that.

here is the thing- Bowen defends Kobe well and makes him work, but Kobe has overcome his great defense before and also Bowen is a bit slower this season.

the next issue is Duncan, though he is slower too he can still be a force to be reckoned with and hopefully Pau can contain him somewhat.

Ginobili and Kobe cancel eachother out so that leaves Parker as the catalyst.

I think I would rather take my chances with Parker over Paul because while Parker can school us in penetration his passing is not as good as Pauls.

The Kobe/Bowen thing is overrated. With the addition of Pau Gasol Kobe isnt going to go one on one with anyone. Teams were able to lock in on Kobe before but not anymore. If Kobe is allowed to pick his spots he will kill anybody in this league. Gasol length gives duncan problems. I would like to see the spurs because they are old and not that athletic. Lakers averaged 110pts per game against a good Utah defense. I dont even think the spurs could score enough points to beat the lakers. Watching them play this year, they go in scoring droughts for like 5 minutes. You cannot do that against this power house offense called the Lakers. Not only that but playing the spurs is like playing 5 vs 4 on defense advantage lakers. Bowen is a non factor on offense.

You guys think the Jazz were the hardest? Denial much? Hornets and Spurs are both better then the Jazz. This series is going to 7. Lets see who had the better record? Who is a better combo Williams and Boozer or Duncan and Parker with Manu instead of AK? The Hornets have the best pg in the league and West is much better in the playoffs then Boozer and thats not to mention Peja and Chandler.
Game 7 4th quarter 5 minutes left is what it is going to come down to.

Who ever wins that is taking it all and I personally think it will be us but to think the hardest is done and it will only take 6 games is very stupid.

hmm its a difficult one. we've struggled with Deron this series so i'm inclined to believe cp3 would murder us. i'll take the spurs, only because they are all quite old, its been a long season and they have gone through a hellish series, so probably them.

Hornets vs Lakers has the two top MVP leaders going head to head.

Spurs vs Lakers has the two players many have felt have been the best in the league the last 3-4 years.


Which debate would be better?

I say beating the Champs always feels better.

I would like to play the Spurs. Hornets are a physical team just like Utah, but with more threats. CP3 and Chandler alley hoops, Chandlers freakish athleticism, West's game, Peja's constant shooting, and bench players like Pargo, James, Mo Pete, Butler and Bonzi who contribute all the time. I like the Spurs because they are aging. They dont play physical, they play with a game plan and run Pop's system, just like LA does with the Triangle. Their bench scares me cause some were starters a while ago and now are role players are such as Barry, Horry, Finley, Ginobili, Stoudamire and they also have Oberto, Thomas, Udoka. We just gotta see what happens Monday night and prepare best for whoevers gonna come into Staples Center for the WCF.

I would like to play Kwame and the Grizzlies....

I love the Hornets and Chris Paul, so I don't want Chris Paul to get hurt and slapped around by the MVP and our Lakers.

And that is not the only reason I want the Spurs, I also want to show them we are the team in the West from here on. I want a 2004 rematch of the WCFs and have the same route to the Finals, but on a different note this time:

Beat The Pistons.

I'd love to see the Lakers take on the Hornets in the Conference Finals...

Advantages:
-Kobe/Sasha/Fisher can help reprogram CP3.0 into a score first PG
-David West has a minor* back injury
-They're more inexperienced than the Spurs
-Off the bat, we can run a lot more tricks against the Hornets than the Spurs
-West and Chandler's free throw shooting (if all else fails, our duds can hack em to seal the game off in the 2nd & early 4th to give our starters some rest.. I did something similar in my video games.. )

-I'll stop right there and not go into any more detail until it's showtime.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Spurs in the Conference Finals either, but I'll rather see the Hornets (more scoring, excitement, superstar vs superstar, more athleticism, and it'll probably be safer for Kobe/Pau/LO on/off the court.

But if the Spurs win Game 7 in triple/quadruple overtime, I'll welcome them gladly w/..

I don't care much which team it is. Both will be very hard to beat and poses very different types of threats. I think the Hornets will win that series, and I think that's a good thing. Mostly because I have so much respect for Popovic's adjustment savvy in a playoffs series.

Byron Scott is a very good coach but Pops is a great coach. Plus, he has lots of know-how as to how to use his current roster to beat the Lakers in a playoffs series. Hornets and Byron Scott might not have it in them to eliminate PJ and the lake show just yet.

The Hornets are not exactly pushovers, but I like your confidence.

Either way, I'll be watching this series with more attention than the previous two.

The Spurs will try to hurt our stars physically... and Kobe doesn't have a legitimate enforcer to back him up on the floor, so if we can avoid the drama, lets do it.

Bruce Bowen gets a lot of non-calls.. and it bugs me to have the Lakers go against guys like that on the other team when we don't have an enforcer on the roster.

Best case scenario for us is if we play the Spurs and beat them and the Pistons beat the Celtics. Then Lakers vs Celtics in the finals. If we play the Cavs or the Celtics in the Finals, we'll lose.

The thing that makes the Spurs more of a challenge to the Lakers than the Hornets is not the individual defense of Bowen on Kobe, but the Spurs team defense which is awesome. They collectively play great D.

IMO, the Spurs would have a better shot of beating the Lakers in a 7 game series than the incredibly talented Hornets because of their team D.
Thank goodness we have home-court advantage. If there is a team that can beat us in Staples it's the Spurs because of their team D.

its either get hit with the strong body blow, with someone widely regarded as the best powerforward of all time. or get the speedbag up and attempt to catch up to paul.

there were 3 teams that I looked at as fierce competition for us. the suns with inside and outside game. the spurs with duncan and experience. chris paul and gettin alleyooped to death.

fortunately for us, theyve all eliminated themselves and we only have to deal with 1 of them.

THIS IS THE TRUE TEST! this will be the watershed moment in the new era of LAKER basketball. we have to face one of 'em. but, chris paul is almost unguardable. and duncan will foul your front line out.

for the challenge? lets go head up with the reigning champions.

well, i guess it is easy to take a game in new orleans, at least, easier than in san antonio.

The experience is a big factor too



and of course....look wot i found in spurs' board.....I dont wanna face them.
