I don't know if there is a cash award but he spent like 4 million on a ring for his wife so I don't think 100k for all his teammates is a big deal.

Man I used to hate on Kobe so much before but I take it all back. He's grown on me and he's not the cocky ass I once thought he was...well, at least he doesn't let it show if he is. This was a classy move.

With my Rockets out and LeBron out, I'm cheering for you L.A.
I'll hate you again next season though.

That's pretty sweet. Anyone have an idea what a personal engraving would have...just each players name?

Regardless that's a pretty cool thoughtful gift idea and represents his role as the leader on the team.

No, there is not a monetary award for the MVP. Kobe doenst need one.. this is peanuts to him and also a tax right off. Regardless this is a nice gesture by Kobe.

Great gesture by Kobe. CC has better taste in watches than Kobe, though.

i think its a smart move by kobe. it will boost the team morale for the up coming game vs the spurs and it can help with the offseason because alot player will want to say and play along side with kobe

And here are pics of the dinner (it looks like Ira Newble got a t-shirt instead):

lmao Newble got a shirt.

And yeah, that's what leaders do.

I remember when my boy Steph bought all the Knick rookies $1,000-$2,000 suits so that's hot. But damn, I'm not gonna enjoy the Knicks again next year either. If anything, D'Antoni is gonna make this team worse. We're already good at scoring. This team neads hard-nosed defenders.

Anyway, back on topic. Kobe is the man for spending wayyyy more money than Marbury.

Thats very cool of him. Im feeling this version of Kobe, he is shuting up the naysayers on and off the court. But to tell you the truth Kobe should get them all diamond NBA Championship rings :)

It's only a matter of time.

He should have bought one for Chris Wallace.
