This Finals series means more than another championship quest for the Celtics. The Celtics along with their fans are on a quest to stop Phil Jackson from winning another championship which would break his tie with Celtics legendary coach Red Auerbach for most championships as an NBA head coach.

On this note . . . GO PHIL JACKSON!!! GO LAKERS!!!

Can't stop the inevitable can they? They rather play for themselves and their careers before looking ahead for someone else for this could be their legit last chance before Orlando or someone else gathers momentum in the east along with us getting better in the West.

They'll use anything to motivate themselves.
I personally don't think KG and Ray Allen care much about the respective legacies of Red or Phil.
They care about their own legacies more than anything. They would both be considered dissapointments if they don't win a title in Boston with the team that they have put together.

I really dont give a MONKEYs behind who they're playing for.
Were playing for the CHip
Were playing for all those lowclass fans from all the teams out there and we all know who most of them are, specailly the SUns.
Were palying for Kobe to shut all these M.F out there that called Kobe a want to be M.J and he couldnt win a title without Shaq and he only cares about himself and noone else.
Were playing for all the haters that said Phil rode the coattail of MJ and Scottie, and Shaq to win his rings.
Were playing for that 5k dollar bet I slapped in Vegas on a 6-1 odds in Nov for the Lakers to win the title.

And above all were palying for the pride of the P&G, so I could give a hoot about Red, K.G, RayA, Doc cry me a river, or anyone other than the Lakers.............

Thats who were playing for MANG..............

Now lets get this started....Im sick of waiting.

OH I forgot someone very very important..............

CHICKY BABY........... SLAM DUNKKKKKKKKKKKK

5k in November? 6-1 odds?

Respect TonyMontana! Respect!

Gotta love that much optimism coming from a Lakers fan BEFORE we got Gasol

No we are young and we got time on our side. KG and Co. might not get another chance like this and just imagine the amount of criticism and ridicule the Big 3 will face if they lose this one.

We were always the underdogs, very few expected us tp be here when the playoffs started while your team's expectations have been fading with each passing round and 7 game series.

yeah, but i know la wants it just as bad. nothin more they'd like to try to beat boston. you guys dont think bryant's gonna start mouthing off agn this summer if they lose, almost a repeat of last summer? that even with this juggernaut they can't win it all?

cash im not sayin im clairvoyant or anything. my feelin's that he's gonna have a chronic knee problem. that's all. dont think he can last a full healthy season+playoffs and be effective, but guess we'll see. it still has to be proven.

I like my team's chances like any other fan mainly because we've been playing insanely efficient of late and Kobe's been at an entirely different level but on match ups alone, the Celtics are a way better team and our lack of frontcourt rebounding depth and a proper C could bite us against Perkins and KG.

If Bynum were healthy right now, I'd pick us in 5 but this right now is advantage Celtics match up wise.

I can see what you're saying against Detroit but if the seedings were a little different and you had to play the Magic, that'd have been a ridiculously tough match up for you guys. Frankly, Boston is a very good team but their achilles heel is that they can't defend a fastbreak team, which plays to our advantage.

no, no not by any means do i think we're better matchups wise. i hate reading about matchups this and that as i think it takes away from the team aspect of the game. fortunately its not an individual contest we're watchin here!!! ;) kg, perks and pp has to continue they way they played vs detroit and if ray2 resembles himself the last 2 gms, i believe we give our team a pretty good chance hehehee...

we played atl>clev>det. yeah that was our problem with atl, it was an awful 1st rd seeding-wise and matchup. just weird. but i hope we can take a page or 2 from the spurs (not in the way they lost the series lol) but about sacrificing offensive boards in order to get back on d to play transition d. that's what we hope to do, limit your team's fastbreak chances.

Yet another storyline has opened up....all with the same ending.

"And the Los Angeles Lakers...have won the 2008 NBA Championship!!"

I can hear Mike Breen shouting it now.....
