I am a Knicks fan routing extremely hard for the Lakers to come back and win this series...my brother is a lakers fan and our living room almost seemed more into the game than the lakers crowd was tonight. THat was absolutely pathetic there. It kills me to say this but the Boston crowd was a million times better than the crowd at Staples today. You guys better get your act in gear if you wanna come back

If the crowd noise was such a factor, Utah would be playing in the Finals. Instead, the Lakers crushed them. While we were sipping tea.

Hm, would you pay $200-100k to cheer?

True, and thats because the rich ass people sit in the lower bowl and the real G's sit up in the upper arena. The arena can get loud keep in mind and it's so huge the sound just kinda hangs only in the top of the arena.

Staples Center has never been accused of noise complaints. Like Miles said, if being rowdy is what matters then we would see the likes of the Kings, Warriors and the Jazz in the finals every year. Actually the Warriors bandwagoners just really got into it last year.

im not saying that it is the biggest factor, but if my team was in the finals i would want the crowd being as loud as possible, and would be very disappointed if they were as lifeless as the staples crowd was tonight. obviously they won anyway but i think the crowd can make a huge difference.

staples is a new building it has a lot of designs to reduce noise from crowd and amplify noise from the middle.

utah building is made of concrete and had no design at all to limit noise so everything bounces off, if you go into the building alone and yell you would hear your echo 20 times.

Staples sellsout every single Laker game for the past who knows how many years. I would rather every single game sold out with the big money than the crowd being like the Jazz or Warriors fans. Benefits the Lakers payroll.

I'm sorry I didn't yell and moan as loud as I could.

It's obvious that the Lakers love the home crowd... but they're too damn good to not have to need them. Is this foolish on our part as fans? Perhaps, perhaps not. But consider that not every hardcore fan can afford a Laker's ticket 99 times out of 100 (like myself), let alone a Laker's finals ticket... if I were there I'd be yelling all night.

You know what, I have to agree...

I'm yelling @ the TV, the $$$ guys in the lower section just sitting there sippin their starbucks...

and what is up w/ the crowd chanting MVP while Kobe's shooting free throws??? yes... he is MVP... why you making more noise when he's shooting free throws than when the celtics are or while they are in their offensive set?

I would have thought the "lights out" concept would be great, playing in a darken area w/ a lot of noise, maybe it's putting our crowd to sleep....

There was a point in the game where the crowd was ridiculously loud. I can't remember when but it was very noticeable.

the game was awful thats why no one cheered, if the lakers would have been playing good there would have been more noise, thats the way the lakers crowd operates

i agree...the staples crowd sucks...of the 3 laker games ive been to, one of them was crazy (vs rockets 2OT win)..other than that the staples center crowd kinda sucks...
first of all, all the fans should either wear yellow or purple shirts...especially yellow...instead of random regular colors.
secondly, i dont agree with the "lights out" idea. it seems like the fans arent even there and noise is just coming out of a speaker or something....the reality of fans making noise and actually seeing them is soemthing different...jazz fans come to mind...although theyre a bit rowdy, that IMO is what makes a home game an advantage.
lastly, id like to hear more chants of "boston sucks" LOUD AND CLEAR, more celtic "boos" during intros and more "chants" during laker intros. "defense chant" usually gets the lakers motivated and it actually works, whenever the celtics touch the ball, id like to see laker fans chanting BOSTON SUCKS....or CELTICS SUCK...something that will motivate the lakers...
we got 2 more home games left...we should make the most out of them and go back to boston with a 3-2 lead if we want any chance to win the finals!

I have to agree... This is the finals... It should be nuts, INSIDE staples, not just outside with a bunch of fools tipping cop-cars...

I'd trade every, Eddie Murphy, Spielburg, Spike Lee, 'I only show up for the BIG games, and nobody knows who I'm rooting for.' fool for a couple roudy-ass crazies like that guy in the suit who gets down on the floor for Jazz(I think?) games.

I'm not sure Sly knew where he was... I'll give him a pass because the Lakers are big with the community outreach programs.
