There is an excellent foundation in place, in fact a CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER FOUNDATION with some tweaking needed. The Lakers lost to a better team this year. NO QUESTION. But there is reason to be giddy and let me tell you why. The Lakers are sooo young right now; this finals disappointment will only bring out EXPERIENCE for next year and after that and HUNGER that was so sorely lacked. With a group of talented young players, EXPERIENCE can be deadly moving forward.
Make no mistake about it; the Los Angeles Lakers are here to stay on top. This year was a stepping stone into next year. They have the pieces in place, and will now move toward tweaking the roster to be even better next year making a deal or two. (get err done mitch!!!)
Oh and did I mention they will be getting back a player (who is a not so bad bigman) who missed so many games this season and would have been the number ONE pick in this year’s draft?
Yeah that’s right; the defensive presence sorely lacked in this series will be back and will DOMINATE THE LOW POST and make opposing slashers think twice about going down low.
Indeed this is a time of depression, melancholy, and crappy feelings…but the future is bright, they are now moving forward with a superstar caliber player and the right pieces and one day I promise you, one historic day in the future Kobe Bean will lead this team to the promised lands and win it all in the ABC tv era, one day Jackson will have the all time most championships in NBA history, one day Gasol will finish strong (hmm ok maybe not), one day b-scott will stop acting weird (lol ok maybe not again) and when this day arrives, you will laugh at these dark present times because then you will have realized the Lakers have become RIGHTEOUS ONCE AGAIN!!!!!!!!
So just try to keep things in perspective...
