After the dust settles...

Although it was a tough loss. This off season feels a lot more promising and hopeful than the last two off seasons we've had. The last two years we got bounced out of the first round drowning in frustrations because our team was stuck in mediocrity fighting for the 7th and 8th spot every year. This year we got all the way to the finals without our defensive anchor and second best player in Bynum. Although losing in the finals is tough to digest (especially being blown out) this off season is easier to go through because we know we're right on the brink of a dynasty. We just have to get everyone healthy and make some minor tweaks here and there to our roster. The previous two years we wanted to drive our heads through the wall because Mitch sat on his hands and kept saying we were "close" to a championship ring when we had smush parker at point and kwame brown at center. We've trimmed alot of the excess garbage on our team and we're now on the brink of a dynasty.

I'll admit this loss was tough. Especially when Ray Allen and Eddie House kept jacking up threes to run up the score with 2 minutes left. But, it's ok. We'll be a tougher team next year with Bynum. Let's face it, Boston's personnel was just better than ours this year without Bynum. They have three superstars on their team that at one point of their career was the "man" on their respective teams. We can only say that about Kobe, and for Pau (partially). Pau and Lamar barely showed up this series and got completely disrupted. They have good chemistry but both are soft. I have a feeling that Andrew will change the whole outlook of our team and will give us that interior toughness and defense we've been so desperately lacking. No one will be driving on us when we have Drew and Pau back there. With Bynum in the mix, Pau will have an explosive season next year. (Think about what Shaq did for Amare this year.) So we have a lot of things to look forward too, we just got to keep our heads up. And I pray to GOD we get another shot at Boston at full strength. Because Pau and Lamar < KG and Perkins. But Bynum and Pau > KG and Perkins.

We're going to have to have thick skins this off season on this site. Be prepared for all the anti-kobe threads and the "MJ would never of lost by 40 points in the finals." "Kobe is a sham" "Kobe doesn't want it." "Lakers are soft" All the kobe haters will be in full swing now after this. They'll shut up for a little bit as Kobe leads USA to a ring. But it'll pick up again after the olympics. So as laker fans we got to keep our heads up, and just take everything in stride. We went from losing Kobe to taking Boston to 6 games in the finals. Before this season started, I would of thought this season would of been a success if we found a way to keep Kobe. We did that and then some. So, let Boston have their time now. It'll be a different story next year. Hopefully Bynum saw them running up the score and it lit a fire under his ass to get him motivated again for next year.

i'd settle for "on the brink of a title" instead of dynasty right now
don't get the cart before the horse or however that saying goes

Nice read dude.

Well, first of all im nor disapointed at all. At the beggining of the season i was thinking about 7th-8th spot and lose in the first round... So reach the finals, get an allstar at PF and being the spotlight to a lot of free agents is just the beggining of a dinasty.

in fact, i think if we have won that ring, maybe the team could have change to worst. I dont know, maybe a change at the attitude and the chemistry. now, they still being thristy for the next year.
