I was all for Pau coming to our team under the assumption that big boy Bynum would be our center anchoring our D. But since Pau was our center this year and will def play center next year because Bynum is still young and picks up stupid fouls...the guy needs to get in the gym. But thats just half of it. Rebounding and blocking shots breaks down to 2 factors. The WILL to rebound/shotblock and the TIMING to rebound/shotblock. I've played ball all my life for high school teams college teams. i'm 6'0 and play against 6'4 6'5 6'6 guys everyday and I outrebound those guys all day because I WANT TO. Pau needs to unleash the inner beast when playing. UNLEASH IT PAU!!!

mihm will be back :D

other than that, pau is who he is, he isn't going to have a drastic personality change over the summer, we're going to have to get used to his playing style, everyone has their shortcomings

Then maybe you should play center for the Lakers?

Seriously, don't just assume that he just sits on his couch all day doing nothing. He's in good shape, but his game just isn't fit for playing center. Stop complaining and be glad you got Bynum.

no way.... his issues aren't really strength in the end and I wouldn't want him to pull a Kwame and lose mobility. He's a fast break 7ft guy who is faster than the 6'10" guys guarding him.

Remember when Kwame scored 30 here and could score in general? It was before he became an immobile strong oaf. I'll take pau for what he is.

^Agreed, and do we really want him to expose him to the risk of back, knee, and foot injuries? Look at Yao Ming, he missed only a couple games in his first few years in the NBA. Everybody tried to beef him up, and he did. Now he's missing half the season every year.

Pau can tighten things up a bit, do some yoga, swimming, whatever, but it's obvious that his body is built lanky not stocky.

Gotta be careful with the biomechanics of the human body, especially a really tall one.

Well said by both CC and miles.

That is Pau's body man. I was going to bring up the Yao Ming thing too. Everybody wanted to beef him up and get stronger. That's just not Yao. Yao's a fast break guy not a banger.

And CC, let me join that bandwagon haha.

Actually, Pau can be BUFF and CUT *but* if his mentality doesn't follow, it's no use. If he's gonna bulk up, his attitude towards the game in general must change also.

Buff but No determination = Kwame
Lanky but determined = Pau
Buff AND Determined to win = Malone
