Very nice! Ariza did well in his limited minutes during the Finals, too bad his time was too limited.

Sweet, one of my faves of the Bench Mob stays.

Damn him, doesn't he know that his 3m contract costs the team 6m?
Why doesn't he just choke Vujacic with his hair band?
Just kidding. Yay for Ariza! Work on that jumper and lateral movement.

If he does, this guy could fill a Tayshaun Prince like role on this team. I always loved Ariza's eye for the game. Plus, his defensive intensity is very contagious. I think he'll have a smaller breakout year next season.

Ariza will be huge in the next year's rotation, I suppose !
He's not worse than James Posey type when he's at his best.
I'm happy and looking forward to Ariza's impact next season !

Great we got a great team player. Ariza has shown that he really wants to play and he loves playing with the best team. Glad he is with us rather then testing the waters. I think with more time with Gasol and Bynum things will start to clear up and things can only benefit him. I do hope Ariza works hard on his mid range game and 3pt shooting in the offseason - maybe he and farmar should workout together.

If he works on his 3 point shooting and gets to around 40%, we will be deadly with him playing his great defense and then knocking down shots at the other end. I've always loved the energy he brings off the bench.

I'm very happy at the news that Ariza will be staying, it's funny because i was just commenting on the thread about the exit interviews, that he wants to work on his ball handling, shooting and add 10 lbs

it kind of made me want to change my off-season plan of going for Posey, i really think he could become that kind of player. Good to know he's here to stay, it's amazing but aside from adding Artest, this off-season could prove boring yet exciting that our team is upgrading not by changes to the roster but by the players themselves working on their game. guys like odom, farmar, ariza, and pau seem so hungry to come back hard next year and prove to the Celtics that WE are the newest dynasty of the NBA

Nice. I hope Ariza eventually improves his game to the point where he's getting consistent minutes in the rotation again, and eventually can be counted on in crunch time.

good job for extending ariza. i'm expecting him to be more athletic, more defensive, more aggressive next season. should continue working on his shooting.

this could make a fun lineup for small ball games where we're chasing a lead down
fisher, sasha, kobe, ariza, gasol

I like that, but I'd play Farmar at the one-spot.

Great!
I can't wait for Ariza to have an entire year(including camp)under his belt in this system.

If he adds an outside shot to his repertoire, he'll be practically unstoppable. His first step is super quick, so if they sag, he could knock down open jumpers all day. Play him too closely, he'll be at the rim dunking before you'll know what happened.

I wonder if he should add a little bulk. I know that may affect his quickness a bit, but may help him if he has a little more strength for post defense.
The other thing he needs to improve on is to stay out of foul trouble. In other words, he just needs more and more PT to learn the NBA game.

He needs to get a bit stronger but I'm not too worried about it yet. I'm sure the training staff will make sure that he build his core strength over the summer. I don't think he needs too much bulk, just a lot of added core strength to avoid being bumped around so easily by bigs.
And like you said, Phil needs to play him more next regular season so that the refs look at him as a legit starting caliber NBA defensive player. That'll help keeping him out of foul trouble.
So, I've been waiting for Luke and Radmanovic to adopt/fill the Rick Fox persona/function of this team, but to no avail. Maybe Trevor has a better shot at becoming that tough s.o.b. who shows no fear, doesn't know the word quit, and takes it to the opponent relentlessly in every game. We need an enforcer Like that at SF. Some would say it's Artest. It could also be Ariza. But, only if he gets a whole lot stronger and works on that outside shot until he shoots it at a high clip.
