JP's 2008 offseason tread

Post#1 » by bynumite120 » Tue Jun 24, 2008 7:11 am

Current roster
fisher/farmar
kobe/
odom/walton(phil loves him)/radmonovic/ariza
pau/
bynum/mihm
Free agents
RFA the machine
RFa roonie
UFA karl.mbenga,ira

offseaon plan A
I would trade odom+farmar for baron that gives golden state a greater up tempo team with farmar/monta/steph/lamar/biedrius and they would do it i would also try and get billups for farmar and odom but thats plan b

if we do that trade that gives us two old point gaurds in davis and fisher so i would move up in the draft and get george hill, his team plays the triangle and he shoots 45% from deep

Plan b
sign free agents
i would give the full mle to posey or mikeal pietres
i prefer pietrues he is very athletic and underrated he never got a chance in GS and i gues he is close to turiaf since he plays with him for France
other free agents i would give consider are gerald green and diop

Plan C
GET HEALTHY
i would do plan A then plan B in that order

I'm afraid your ideas won't make this team better at all.

Sorry !

A trade ? Maybe ? But not baron Davis, please ! You need then to play with 2 balls on the court, one for Kobe, and one for Baron, for sure ! No, thank's ! :D

nvrm i got it...by the way i think baron is a great team player plus here in la he would take a role of distributing the ball and great defense which will help out kobe who do u prefer baron or chauncey
i would pick baron over him because his a better scorer, defender, 3pt shooter, and he can dunk ive never seen billups dunk

JP if you are going to self-gloss your thread you gotta have a better take than that buddy...

Baron Davis, IMO, has lost a step, plays with a boiler (overweight), and is oft-injured. I think he's often injured because of his extra poundage, and is much older than Lamar. Lamar is going to transition to the three spot, while I'm not crazy about him triple threating further from the basket, it's a vast improvement from Vlad Rad the worst defender in the NBA.

But then JP you want to give up Farmar as well? Farmar could start for the Lakers next season, depending how much DFish has left. Farmar played well and was tough in the Finals vs. one of the best defensive teams I can remember.

We could use another vet F/C (banger), as well as a vet pg (def minded), and I would love for Mitchell to trade away Vlad Rad again the worst defender I can remember.

Our needs
Defence at the 3 spot
Backup at center

SF:Odom/Ariza/Walton
PF:Gasol/Turiaf/Radmanovic
C:Bynum/Mihm
SG:Bryant/Vujacic
PG:Fisher/Farmar

R. Artest
M. Pietrus
G. Green
J. Posey
________

K. Thomas
D. Diop
K. Brown

I know some people think we need another point guard because some think that Fisher and Farmar wont play all 82 games again. I feel that we can get by with those two a the point. If one goes down then Odom and Walton can handle the rock well enough. Don't rip me a new one either, with Kobe in the back court with either Odom or Walton thier flaw wouldn't show that much I guess
