Cashin' In on the Machine & Luke

Post#1 » by Mamba Venom » Mon Jun 30, 2008 7:43 am

I love Sasha & the Luke Walton. They are great bench players for this team. I see a trade opportunity though that could make the Lakers a better team.

Sign and trade the young Sasha and Luke Walton for.... 28 year old Mike Miller of the Timberwolves

Minny wants young players around its core. The Timberwolves' are young and Miller is in his prime. Sasha stock is very high. ESPN said Walton was one of the surprises of the 1st round of the play-offs. McHale loves players w/ high Bball IQ and I'm sure he loves his old teammate's son Luke.

Miller salary is close to what Luke and Sasha will make in 2009. Miller could be the perfect 6th man for the Lakers and Jackson loves big guards. Miller is a 6-8 guard. A Miller Kobe back court w/ the Lakers frontcourt would be the largest in league history!

I crunched the #'s for fun... the average height of the Lakers starters would be 6-9... by far the tallest in NBA history IF Miller got a start.

Fisher / Farmar / Miller
Kobe / Miller
LO / Ariza / Kobe
Gasol / Turiaf / Radmonatradeawayavich
Byum / Gasol / MBenga / Mihm

as long as he's traded by himself they can trade miller. there's no reason why they'd take on luke's long term deal or why they simply wouldn't offer sasha a deal themselves.

Walton can earn his 4 mil paycheck. Walton would thrive w/ a fun young team like he did in Arizona. His longterm deal is really a plus. Walton is worth what he gets paid... not more, not less. Its fair value.

McHale loves Walton. Miller makes about 8 mil per year. Walton = 4 Sasha should get about 4.2 so its pretty fair
