Any team interested in Turiaf and Vujacic?

I haven't put too much attention on the Lakers lately since the Euro cup is playing. I didn't even watch the final since I somehow know we will be overpowered by the Celtics. But I know next year when Bynum comes back, it is our year!
However, do you know is there any teams interested in signing Turiaf and Vujacic? How much will they pay? How much are we willing to pay?
I want both of them to stay since they show enough passion playing for this club. But I am no expert in contract or luxury tax.
ps. BTW how many Lakers are playing in Olympics this summer? I am sure both Gasol and Kobe will.....
How about Sasha? Ronny? Vlad?

Kobe and Gasol in the Olympics is all I know...Oh, I think Vlad Rad is playing for team iamtheworstdefenderintheleagueandisurvivedacontractbreachandlettheceltics-

in the Soviet Union with a very large name.
There are offers out to Turiaf and Sasha tonight, I think we all expect Turiaf to sign,
and I would say for the group 60/40 chance Sasha re-signs sounds about right.
I would think a lot of teams would have interest in both players.

Rumor has it (completely unsubstantiated so far) that the rockets have offered Sasha 5yrs/30 million.

Teen Girl Squad, sure it wasn't San Antonio? I'm curious why Houston would do that when they've got McGrady and Battier, both of whom play heavy minutes? Especially when they've got another 3-point specialist guard, Luther Head. Maybe. Well, some team is gonna offer Sasha the MLE.
It only matters if we're willing to match it.

Again its completely unsubstantiated and I haven't heard anything validating it so far, just throwing it out there as it *potentially* could show interest and contract levels Sasha might be looking at. I hope its not true because that would be either sashas gone or we're overpaying him.

I know they are restricted agent. But can we offer them a contract before any teams make a move?
I just hope other teams think we way overrate our players and so don't pay big money to sign them.

Andy as a restricted FA the Lakers have the opportunity to match any offer. Unrestricted he could sign with anybody. Man I really fell in love with Sashas game this year. It be sad to see him go, Luke and Vlad's contracts are killing us right about now. If we can squeek by with both Sasha and Turiaf resigning, we will be in a good position after next seasonI would think with Lamars 14M contract coming off the books as well as Mihm's 2.5M. I'm not sure Lamar will make it to next All -Star break.

I like Lamar though. I appreciate what he has done for the team and his versatility is vital for the Lakers IMO. Granted he is not a great scorer or a clutch performer, but I believe he is a good leader in the locker room and I hope he is willing to take a lesser contract like Jamison.

Is it possible that a player accepts an offer from his club even if another club offers him more?
Like, if Houston was offering Sasha 6 million per year and the Lakers would offer him 5 million, would he still be able to take the Lakers' offer?

it took me forever to read this
i got stuck on the contact breach part
and i suppose it would be possible to accept a lower amount from your team, but doesn't the team usually match offers to restricted FA's?

Yes it's possible, but normally the team will match, or come closer, but if the original team didn't do either, the players would likely walk in that scenario.

If that's what he's getting offered in FA, then let him walk... I'd start looking into replacing him in a trade by using a combo of Walton/Mihm...

Well, no. If he signs an offer sheet with say Houston for 6 million then the only way to keep him is to pay him 6 million.

Well, no. If he signs an offer sheet with say Houston for 6 million then the only way to keep him is to pay him 6 million.

What is then the advantage of being a restricted free agent? Wouldn't being an unrestricted FA than allow him to accept less from his current team?

The advantage is really more for the home team. If they are on the fence about a player and or dont want to bid against themselves, the player can set his market worth. If its something the ( home) team wants then they just match it and move on.
If you are a RFA and an all-star or a really big assest then that scenario usually never comes in play.
Its basically a right of refusal for the team who has his rights.

5yrs at 6 mill is not that bad for a backup guard who fits well into the Lakers system. Easy to say since it is not my money. Last thing you want to do is become weaker and make the competition stronger. Mitch said the Lakers would probably not use the MLE but I wonder if that was anticipating signing Sasha and Rony?
