Believe it or not, i would like to have Kwame back here as a back up to Bynum. I have disliked Mihm since the day he arrived here in LA, and hasnt done much besides sit on the bench and take up money. IMO our SF choices have come down to Posey, Barry, Maggs and Artest. If we get a SF, especialy one Ron Artest, that means Radman or LO are going to be involved. If its Posey or Barry, LO will most likely stay and our bench will get deeper. Pietrus would also be a good fit for us. Defencive minded player who can shoot the ball or drive it in. If LA doesnt trade Radman for Artest, they should trade him for a PF like Haslam whos a banger down low which we need (has same exact contract as Vlad) or even Stomile Swift. I think Giricek would be a excellent fit for backup SG. good bball IQ, can shoot, good defender. We also need a decent backup SG/PG or a combo guard, like Williams or Cassell.

Its gonna be interesting to see whos gonna be on our roster and whos not once opening day rolls around.

no denying he was a terrible starting C, but if he were just a rotation player i think he stacks up reasonably well against other backup C's in the league. he also brings us the defence that we 'so badly need'

i hated posey before the C's, i thought he got lucky being on the heats but when i saw him play the lake show in the finals this guy proved me wrong....
we need to grab posey, he brings a bad man swagger n if could some how trade radman to the kings we got a good tough core of def players in ariza, artest, bryant, and posey... bynum could take the middle but he needs to own the position

i kind of agree with u i was hoping artest had opt out but i dont think radman would make the kings move unless ron make a push maybe our 1st round draft pick n radman would make dem bite look like they have a youth movement anyways

but if we add another SF someone have to u cant 4 to5 SF on one Nba roster

if we sign another center, there doesn't appear to be much choice in the matter

i wouldnt touch or even consider livingston being a laker, the guy is so fragile...
he seems like he is going to break everytime someone gets him on a screen...
kurt thomas would be a good addition a big who can play the 4 and 5, though he's lost a step he's still pretty decent for the price

As I said before, I wouldn't mind have Kwame back. He was our best post defender before we traded him for Pau. Now let's get him back and we virtually didn't trade anybody for Pau except for his brother.

From SF, Pietrus and Posey are the only two that appeal to me. Another 2/3 that appeals to me is Kelenna Azubuike, as per miles and YouTube clips. This dude has it.

from this list I would take Kwame (reasons mentioned alredy above), maggette (prefer to have it in my team than at the C's or SA but only if we can trade Vlade or Walton) and Livingston (he's a risk but he has the size and the skills for to play the triangle)

Amongst the players above, for the C spot, my BAE order of preference would be (1) K. Thomas, (2) Chris Andersen, (3) Kwame Brown. Kurt Thomas may be pipe for that kind of money and I'd probably give him as much as the total MLE, but I'd take another hard look at Mbenga before I signed either of the latter two for the BAE, though. I think I'm done with Kwame Brown for a while.

Kurt Thomas and James Posey would be my obvious choices but other than that, I like Chris Andersen, Finley and Barry. Magette should get more than the MLE for his talent and I actually see someone like the 76ers giving him that.

Lakers need toughness and this guy brings it.

Also, if Odom goes to SF...than Lakers have no back-up for Gasol or Bynum.

I'd let Turiaf walk and pick up Kurt Thomas any day.

I really like Kurt Thomas and wouldn't mind to see Sasha leave if we replace him with 2 of Finley, Azuibuke, or Barry.

its not like lamar couldn't go back and back up the pf spot if he needed to, since we have a small army at sf

How are you going to let Mihm walk? He has a player option.

Also, how do we sign Posey( full mle), Azubuike, Brown and arroyo?

PJ Brown doesn't look half bad for the Minimum. Stepped up huge for the C's last year.

The ideal situation would be giving Maggette the MLE.. Kurt Thomas the LLE.. Resign Ronny & Sasha.. To make up for the huge lux tax dollars that would cost, trade Luke & Mihm for picks.

Would give us great versatility in event of an injury.. Sasha can play the point.. Mags or Ariza can play the 2.. LO & Vlade can play both the 3 & 4.. Pau, Ronnie & Kurt are all capable at PF & C..

We could suffer an injury to any starter besides Kobe & still be a better team than last year..

Magette is actually a decent defender. Just because his offense is good, nobody ever mentions his defense. I think he must be our second MLE choice at SF.

I doubt that Kurt Thomas will take the veterans minimum, so it's either Posey/Thomas/Maggette for the MLE, but probably not two of them. Although, if we land one of them, maybe the other will take a pay-cut for the sake of a shot at a ring. But if it comes down to that for Posey, he'll probably rather stay put in Boston.

Side note, I love how quiet the Lakers front office have been in the media. Stay under the radar, then rob the Celtics of one of their key players.
