That's a great pick up for the Hornets. Seeing as how Peja can't seem to stay healthy, this provides them some nice insurance, and as a back up we all know what he's capable of.
Having said that, this will be offset by the fact that Lue is likely leaving the Hornets.

6.25M avg a yr. He's older than I thought he was, as long as he's off the hated Celts.

Good. Everyone welcome Mr. Ron Artest now.

Beneficial signing for the Lakers. Takes the best defender off the C's and puts him in a role where he probably won't be as effective, since N.O. will probably rely on him to provide more offense than he did in Boston.

the only thing good about posey signing with N.O. is that he's not in boston, posey now gives them more experience and stuff, it will be even harder to get out of the west now
mitch have you called artest yet?

well to me Ron's statements and inference that he wants to be here was the real end of Posey to LA. Why would he want to consider us if he might be one of Artest/Walton/Ariza?
Now the money they offered was a smart move on their part, at least for the next year or two. NO got better for sure. Who does Boston replace him with? that'll be interesting.

Do it Mitch ! I don't care about Thomas, but we need to get Artest !

I don't think we were ever a frontrunner in getting Posey. His top choices always seemed to be Boston, his hometown Cleveland and obviously New Orleans.

Amazing pickup by the Hornets.
It makes our road harder to another WCF championship, but if we do get it, Finals should be a lot easier now.

^That's right. There were articles that wouldn't even name the Lakers in his top choices. I think we've been very much focused on Artest. Though he's alluded us before...
As for Posey with the Hornets, should make them tougher. But I think it helps more that he's out of Boston. How they respond will be interesting.

It's Ron Artest or bust now.

boston is dumb in losing him. Their bench pushed them over the top this year and they are all pretty much gone.

If we get Artest.. I can't believe we're willing to wreck this whole team, when we could have just used the safe option and signed Posey.

Well I just like pissing off the Celts anyway possible. Ray was lobbying for Posey a few days ago saying he is a huge part of their defensive success, they need him in Boston.
BTW Ray Allen the other night got shunned at the door @ Club One, hot LA club (I hope that was because he was a Celt). The next day on the golf course, he was asked about it, and Ray Allen said he wanted to leave anyway, lol. I saw this video on TMZ, pathetic I know, but hard to change channels on that shi*.

Sucks. Good for us in that he's not on Boston anymore, I'd much rather go against O'Bryant and whatever other scrubs they drafted then Posey/Brown again. NO will be tough now. Peja is great for 3 quarters but sucks come crunch time, now they have a legit option in the crunch. He fits practically every need that team had. Good for them, it will be a battle now.
Please sign Azibuike now... Only way we're getting a SF is through trade so might as well put some money out and fill other holes. Get Az and Kurt Thomas. If we get Artest so be it, if not we are still solid as hell with those additions to the bench.

Ariza does what Posey does, the only difference is that Posey is a much better perimeter shooter. Ariza is a better slasher, Ariza has youth on his side, and is a very good defender who is still getting better. We didn't need Posey and I'm glad we didn't get stuck with another bad contract.
IF we don't match Turiaf, we have to lower our stance on refusing to accept Kenny Thomas' contract if that's going to be the bridge to bringing Artest to L.A..

They still lack bench depth, and the 2 spot is weak. Somebody mentioned that it was a upgrade over Mo Pete really it's not because they play two different spots. But it does make West a lot tougher. But Hornets don't scare me. That was another team we never played at full strength.
