Nets looking to deal a forward

The Nets still have a lot of power forwards. That means if they can find takers for Stromile Swift and/or Sean Williams -- I know some of you won't like that I include his name but they are looking to move him -- the Nets will deal each or both.

One deal that could work is Stromile Swift ($6,200,000 / 1 yr) for Vladimir Radmanovic ($6,049,400 / 3 yrs) . . .

GOOD NEWS: The Nets need a shooter which Vlad would bring.

BAD NEWS: Vlad has 3 more years, Swift has 1 year left (expiring contract).

Id like to see Swift take Turiaf's postion as backup PF and C. Id honestly rather have Sean Williams but the only way that could happen (without trading more players) is trading Mihm for Williams, sure Williams is the better player but Mihm is the only backup center the Lakers have at the moment. Bottom line is the Lakers need a backup big man who is a banger like Turiaf was for the Lakers, both these guy can fill that void.

doubt they'd want mihm, since they are getting rid of big guys

Swift is more of a small forward than a power forward. He is not really a banger, very good dunker and gets off the floor fast. Williams, why would they want to trade him. Would love to have him. His upside I think is still wide open. As I remember he lead the nation in blocks in college or was one of the top shot blockers off all time in college. Some stat like that. But those are college numbers, he is doing pretty good in the NBA. A good replacement for RT. I would love to get both. Not sure what they would want.

Would a couple of future number 2's be enough for Sean Williams?

Looking at the amount of money Williams makes I don't see the Nets asking for a player in return. I would think that 2nd round pick the Lakers have from Charlotte next year should be enough to get him I wouldn't be suprised if the Lakers offer their own 2nd round pick also to get him. I really don't think the Lakers need to add anymore young players through the draft.

A team always needs young talent or they go stale (see: Spurs). Though Williams is young enough. I'm not going to be as presumptuous to think we'll seal the deal, but I'll ask anyway...

Hey Mitch, do it?

Mihm is an expiring. Combine him with Ariza and we got a 20 mil exp. However, I do believe this might be an opp to get rid of puke and vlade. Personally I would rather keep vlade but im sure he is more desirable than puke. I like the Swift deal thing proposed here since we lost ronny we dont have a back up PF that has any shot blocking ability.

Hmm...

Mihm makes 2.5mill.
Ariza makes 3mill.

3 + 2.5 = 20?

sean williams blocking >> stromile blocking

sean plays less and blocks more

Just an idea, but how about a 3-way:

Lakers Trade:
Lamar Odom - $14,148,596
Max Incoming - $17,785,745

Lakers Get:
Gerald Wallace - $9,500,000
Stromile Swift - $6,200,000
Total - $15,700,000

Nets Trade:
Stromile Swift - $6,200,000
Keith Van Horn - $3,792,112 (non-guaranteed contract)
Sean Williams - $1,522,920
Total - $11,515,032
Max Incoming - $14,493,790

Nets Get:
Lamar Odom - $14,148,596

Bobats trade:
Gerald Wallace - $9,500,000

Bobcats get:
Keith Van Horn - $3,792,112 (non-guaranteed contract)
Sean Williams - $1,522,920

Lakers would probably look to add Mihm and/or Ariza to reduce salary, but it works as is. Nets get a big upgrade at the 4, who also happens to be expiring. Bobcats get a good young big and save a grip of cash.

my guess in that trade scenario that should be in the trade thread, would be the Bobcats want more for Wallace than money unless they want to use this as a way of doing a s & t with Okafor and replacing him with williams, Wallace with whoever Okafor yields.

Good point, I'll throw it in there. I also just posted it on the Trades & Transactions board so we'll see what the reaction from others is.
