2 years, 8 mil with a player option after the first (I wonder if he'll pick it up). :)

Wow, that's double what Kwame is worth. PJ Brown time?

wow, jeesh he's such a lucky bastard. Two unwarranted contracts in a row for a guy that couldn't even crack the Grizzlies' lineup after getting booed out of LA. I though Joe was a smart guy.

Who knows? Joe Dumars always has an eye on untapped talent. Aside from the Darko pick he's done pretty well on building a stable contending team.

I don't know if I should spoil the party on the Detroit broad.

Its only two years anyway, so even thought Kwame isnt exactly worth the 4 mill, Detroit wont be tied up with Kwame for very long.

kwame will be great when facing bosh/jo, howard, kg/perkins, elton brand. with sheed and kwame, they'll have far and away the best post defense in the east.

Pretty sure that Kwame wasn't allowed to crack the rotation. Why waste PT on a guy they don't plan on resigning? He was always an expiring contract in their mind.

I wouldn't say he's not worth it just yet. Ronny got a better contract and he can only play 15 min a game. Kwame was injured and out of shape because of that injury last season and he still played more than that with the Lakers (with a healthy Andrew Bynum at center).

So, I'm not going to call him overpaid yet. He still plays strong man-to-man defense post defense, which we're going to miss against Boston next year.

Also, IIRC Yao has said that Kwame is the toughest defender he's faced.

so who'd left, and who's desirable?

I'm going with DJ, he gets punked here and there but he's still developing and shows some offensive potential to go with his size. Zo- is Zo done would he come and could he hold up? I certainly would take a gamble if he tries out and looks good with our Doc's approval. Matta-Real sounds like a last ditch effort to me. At least DJ has size taco-judo.

4 mill isn't that unreasonable for a solid defensive backup C to be honest.

i actually really like this deal

kwame is going to help the pistons a lot plugging up the middle.

for four mil and only a two year contract i think the pistons scored big time

i just wish we could have signed him just cause he can defend and is STILL ONLY 26!

I would have definitely given this deal to Kwame.

Mitch is kind of dropping the ball with free agent signings.

Derek Fisher/ Jordan Farmar/
Kobe Bryant/ Sasha Vujacic/ (Coby Karl)
Lamar Odom/ Trevor Ariza/ Luke Walton
Pau Gasol/ Vladimir Radmanovic/
Andrew Bynum/ Chris Mihm/

We're severely lacking with front court issues. I thought we were going to get tougher this off-season. So far, we've regressed in that regard.

NEEDS:

- Backup C
- Backup PF
- Veteran PG (insurance.. Lindsey Hunter, etc)

We still have to fill these 3 holes. I hope Mitch has some magic Radmanovic/Luke trade for a legit player to slide in the rotation. In the free agency market, who's even left besides 35 year old scrubs?

We're in trouble if we go into this year with that lineup. Our bench isn't looking good, especially in the front court. Too many injuries in a year to go like this.

We shoulda kept Ronny... I know for sure he was worth it now that Kwame got the same money

There goes plan B.

You guys can call him overpaid, but both Turiaf and Kwame are worth 4m when healthy. Why? It's relative: there aren't not too many capable big men in the league.

It's slim pickings from here on.

Lol, people are in denial about Kwame's contract. A fairly young and healthy backup Center worth only the Vet's min.? Come on, you guys have to be realistic sometimes.

This is where I cry,

Doesn't seem like Mitch is gonna offer the Bookie man a contract. If we don't sign the Bookie man at least, our offseason is a failure.

Who is the "Bookie Man"?
