I don't know how the rest of you guys feel, but I'm not comfortable with our roster as it stands. I have faith in of Front Office but I've seen players go to other teams that would have fit really well on our team. I want a better back up better than Mihm, Kwame Brown would have been nice. I wanted somebody to take Ronny's place, Najera would have been fine. The defencive small forward could have been James Posey, but I would have settled for Hayes, Barnes, or Pietrus.
James Posey-SF
Earl Boykins-PG
Chris Duhon-PG
Eduardo Najera-PF
Jarvis Hayes-SF
Matt Barnes-SF
Mickael Pietrus-SF
Bobby Jackson-PG/SG
Kareem Rush-SG
Ronny Turiaf-PF
Kwame Brown-PF/C
Ricky Davis-SG/SF
DeSagana Diop-C
Nenad Krstic-PF/C
Keyon Dooling-PG/SG
Carlos Arroyo-PG
Maurice Evans -SG/SF
Brian Skinner-PF/C
James Jones -SF
Brent Barry-PG/SG
Carlos Delfino-SG/SF

well since like all of those players already found a home, any free agents left that can fill a void?

heres a small list of most realistic targets:
Juwan Howard (Mavs)
David Harrison (Pacers)
Theo Ratliff (Pistons)
Carl Landry (Rockets) (tho i doubt they'll give him up)
Dikembe Mutombo (Rockets) (too old however)
DJ Mbenga (Lakers) (DO IT MITCH)
Earl Barron (Heat)
Francisco Elson (OKC)
tho i prefer landry over most of these guys, i think elson would be nice too. or maybe david harrison.

if your waiting for the perfect roster with no holes in it, better pull up a chair, it's going to be a while
we have a good team, no reason to seriously worry about anything now

The only concern I have is at PG. I want a scrappy defensive tru PG backup. I think we need a third guy to spell Derek and Jordan. No one seems to be concerned with this, I see people asking for help at the 3, 4, and 5. What about the 1? Maybe Dwayne is that lock up defender, I have no idea.
Also did DJ get signed yet? Hoopshype has him on the roster. You might think it's old, but Dwayne Mitchell is on there, so?

Francisco Elson-PF/C
Bonzi Wells-SG/SF
J.R. Smith-SG
Jannero Pargo-PG
Jason Williams-PG
SF:Wells/Walton/Ariza
PF:Gasol/Odom/Radmanovic
C:Bynum/Elson/Mihm
SG:Bryant/Vujacic
PG:Fisher/Farmar
I like Elson, Wells and Pargo. I guess Williams and Smith could do well too.

last season: WCF. -bynum, -mihm, -ariza
this season: +bynum, +Ariza, +Mihm (supposedly 100% now), -Turiaf, -Mbenga
possibly, Mbenga might return or mitch signs somebody that can give same production.
+We will have a much improved Coby carl or a better Rookie, (whoever takes that spot will be equal to or better than a much improved Coby Carl)
I say ....theres not much reason to be unhappy with roster!

I would love to have Pargo, he knows the system already and is a good defender and a clutch shooter. I just don't think he's in our price range. Would be nice to keep him from San Antonio as well.
Anyone other then me less worried about New Orleans? Not having Pargo return. Peja and Posey are just going to get older. CP3 has looked less then stellar at the olympics...
If SA picks up Pargo they will be dangerous if healthy. I would not count them out for a second.

Perfectly said. It gets tiring seeing all these panic threads.

I believe we have a very formidable starting five with a commendable bench. I firmly believe a healthy Bynum and Ariza will take us over the hump we experienced during the Finals.

If your not comfortable with this roster then I dont know what to tell you. How did you feel about the 3 yrs prior? This roster is loaded, theres no other way to put it. All we have to do is come together as a team. The only thing we missed last year was a true center, well that problem is fixed with the return of Bynum. Cheer up

Wish we could have keep Ronny, but when he goes from 700 k to 4.5 mil. We can not afford that and he will not make the numbers to justify that raise. But that is the problem of the Warriors. I do feel there are a few spots we can upgrade, but I see it will not happen. Lamar, going to be interesting to see if he is here all season or will someone looking for a 14 mil expiring deal make a play for him. I want to keep him. But if we could fill a PF spot, a guard and another forward for him. Then I might think 3 for 1 would help the Lakers more than 1 player can.

Considering we made the Finals without Bynum, this summer is kind of like a western conference champion also ending up with the nr 1 overall pick in the draft (in Bynum). Am I comfortable? Heck yeah.
Of course I would've loved to see us make a move for Artest, but we still have the most talented roster in the league even without that move. We're favorites to win the title next year even if we stand pat.
