Not much of a half between them. Pau's been decent, Kobe's been in foul trouble.

What a luxury -- the MVP has to sit, and you bring in Dwyane Wade.

Great, great effort for us today. Wow. When we are locked in and playing hard, we are absolutely unbeatable. I'm just loving being able to treat all these enemies like Lakers for a month and root for them. Can't understand why more basketball fans aren't enjoying the spectacle.

I wanna see Kobe highlights. I missed the first half, and all I saw was a 3 in the second half that I barely saw cause of a replay being shown.

He was average. Got stuck with three weak fouls in the first half, never really got into much of a flow after that. Didn't need to either, not with such a huge lead and Wade back in 06 form. He might have had a couple of dunks, but considering we had about 15 or 20 as a team it's easy to lose track.

Ya, I agree completely Sedale Threatt... it's truly amazing to watch these guys play... every game has been a joy to watch...

As for Spain being USA's biggest competitor... they proved to be too soft and couldn't keep up defensively...

I'm getting excited for these games like I do a big playoff game. They're so fun to watch, especially after all the crap we've had to eat over the past six years about American ballers being selfish and not knowing how to play. F that. This is still our game.

INDEED! I don't get many opportunities to use that word, lol. Yes, I'm wondering if K is going to continue to have DWade come off the bench with as well as he's been playing. DWade is the perect spark, in that case I doubt it.

Pau has been so sick during this tournament (like he always is). He's 2nd in scoring now at 19.4 ppg (Manu at 19.6 in first) while shooting over 70% (yes, seventy) from the floor.

Wade shooting over 70 has been extremely impressive, but Pau is doing it on a higher volume and as the clear cut top dog on his team. I've got him as the MVP of the tournament thus far.

Pau's numbers are excellent, but I thought he was a complete non-factor against the U.S. As hard as it might be to pick a single American as the MVP with so many contributing, I think LeBron would be a much better choice -- provided we win, of course. Top 10 in points, assists, steals, blocks and shooting despite averaging only 24 minutes per game. He's been the catalyst for what has been the best team (so far) by a huge margin.

DWade can give LBJ a run for his money, and he doesn't even start.

Theres not much Pau could do. TDunc in his prime would have nightmares against this squad. So athletic playing with so much passion and energy, and more than anything the weak D side help is suffocating the opposition that's where the majority of the steals are coming from.

part two about to start for the gold. pau was awful against usa but otherwise has been the best player in the tourney. kobe has struggled on offense virtually every game, settling for 3's way too much.

lets put it this way...

if lebron wasnt on team usa, would usa still be in the gold medal game? yes

if gasol wasnt on team spain, would spain still be in the gold medal game? no

tourney mvp=gasol

hopefully kobe can come back in and have a positive impact after the 2 early fouls. he's been one of the worst performers on the team. pau on the other hand, looks great right now.
