How Did You Think Of Your Board Name ?

Post#1 » by DEEP3CL » Fri Aug 22, 2008 7:55 am

Ok I see we need something fun again so I ask, when you signed up how did you come to the conclusion on your board name ?

For me it's nothing like seeing a guy hit a deep 3 pointer in a tight game which usually sucks the life right out the arena. So I went with DEEP3CL, I went all caps to give my name a different look and the CL is just my first and middle initials. I know some here have changed their names a few times for what ever reasons. I thought about doing years ago but I'm known by it from everybody on every board.

My name came from Darryle Dawkin's self-titled dunk. I dont really like him but i tried to think of a name that relates to baksetball.

"Trixx" was what friends used to scream out when I got the ball in pickup games and whatnot. I was a huuuge fan of and1, and I i have sick handles, and was able to come out with some crossovers and all that street crap.

Since my game doesnt revolve around tricks anymore, i changed up my name. "Kno" is the name of who I consider the best hip-hop producer ever. His production is just ridiculously good. Completely revolutionized what I thought Hip Hop was. His soulful shtt just gets to me.

Listen to the production on these tracks (first song is my favorite song ever, and it has yet to be released. Its for the upcoming "Chico And The Man" album (written by Tonedeff, produced by Kno). I mean, listen to the lyrics in that. Leaves me in awe every time.

Some more of his soulful production:

But the best part? He's versatyle as fkk. Some bangers:

Very simple - Sasha is my first name and how usually people call me in my country ( russian name ).
Alex is how i'm called by english people and the first 4 letters of my ID first name - Alexandru.

So i came with SashAlex with the letter A playing a double role. :D

when my daughter was about 6 she saw Charles Barkley on TV and out of the blue she yelled "GINOOOBBLILI!" as she casually walked past in front of the TV. my wife and I thought it was the funniest thing she had ever said until she came back to see what we were laughing at and Shaq was on the screen and she called him Snaquille Oatmeal. since then my wife always calls Shaq Snaquille Oatmeal and when I was thinking of a username I was still pretty lit up about Shaqs shennennigans when he left LA and also because a lot of people would not hold him accountable on his part for breaking up the dynasty and instead laying all the blame on Kobe so I went with it.

LOLL Good thread DEEP..
I have always been an Al Pacino fan since I was a kid.
But when Scarface came out, as a kid who grew up in the ghetto when my parents came to the states 30 years ago, I always saw myself being able to comeup in life and do what I had to do to make that happen as an immigrant, but just like Tony I never ****ed anyone to get to where I am today and I was always been there for everyone and everyone knows me because of my loyalty and who Iam.
Also my passion for fast cars and exotic things in my life, and Im focused on what I want and nothing's going to stop me from making my dreams happen for myself and my family.

Well mine's not as creative as some of yours...

I was in a NBA Live league a while back called DUBA it was a great active competitive league, no cheese and no cheaters we ran teams as franchises, etc. I never could get the Lakers. I didn't put a lot of thought into my name honestly, the first thing that came to mind when I was registering.

Can't wait for Squirrel Boys story.

I had a recurring dream that I was talking to the last man alive in a boom town gone ghost town. His name was corvus crow, when I googled it, I found out Corvus is latin for Crow and now I have a concept album and short story by the same name.

Haha. I know you were waiting for mine. BUT FIRST, I am a big time Kingdom Hearts fan, my first username, UltimateSora91, well, represented that. Sora was basically me in every way possible. Big feet, the hair, the childish yet mature manner, etc. Oh yeah, THE KEYBLADE!! Can't forget about that.

And then there was two years ago, me and my boys were playing some pickup basketball 7 in the morning. There was a squirrel watching us play the entire game. He did not flinch, did not move, dude was fearless. We went near him and did stuff and the results were the same. Then my friend turned to me and said, 'Yo dawg this squirrel is like you son!! Dude is straight fearless!!'

There you go, now I am known as Sora or Squirrel Boy. And the girls are a huge fan of deez nuts in their mouth. :D

I feel your pain Lost Angel. I'm also stuck in Boston but I'll hopefully be back in LA (for good) by next spring.

So my name... a long time ago I used to compete in those competition leagues for internet games (original Counterstrike, Quake etc.) and I used to use this name because I thought it sounded cool when I was 15. I've just been too lazy to come up with new names every time I register for a message board. So basically, it has no meaning whatsoever and is more a product of my laziness. 8-)
