I was wondering what if Bynum reaches his max potential, how good would he be? What kind of numbers would he put up? I was thinking something along the lines of 25ppg 14rpg 3.5bpg

From what we've seen so far, I dont think Bynum has a dominant 1v1 post game to average 25. At the most, I see him getting 20ppg, which would be great considering only Yao and Amare averaged more than 20ppg as a C.

I think 22/14/3 sounds about right, which is DAMN good.

There is no question he can get up to 14 rebounds a game. All that he needs is minutes and a little more experience (and healthy, of course). He's already a vacuum around the basket. Same goes with blocks.

Points, it's difficult to say. If he were on a team that didn't have so many weapons, then I suppose at best he'd get up to about 22 if he got more opportunities. Don't EVER think he'll put up that many points as long as Kobe and Gasol are on the same team though. It's not going to happen. I'd be pleasantly surprised if he were able to give us 17 or 18.

I can't wait to see what this kid is going to do next year. Just thinking about it makes me want to pee on myself.

LOL

If he can give us that then I'm damn pleased.

Odom 15/9/7
Gasol 18/7/4
Bynum 17/13/3.5
Bryant 28/6/6
Fisher 13/4/3

do you guys realize how hard it is to score 15 points AND get more than 12 rebounds??

saying that, he will average 16 and 10 NEXT YEAR

Im gonna put my bid in at around 24/13. Bynum still has a ton of upside and with the decreasing number of true centers in the league he should be able to dominate. He was starting to feel more comfortable in the post before he got hurt. He had a drop step, baby hook and very good foot work in the post. As a center he probably has some of the best hands in the league. I havent seen hands like that in a while. When someone throws the ball any where near the basket he goes and gets it. His hands is one of his greatest assets. I also look for him and Gasol to carry us during the first half of the season giving Kobe some much needed rest and I expect Kobe to come on stong down the stretch.

I am guessing around 16-20 pts / 10-12 reb / 3 blks. Can't wait to see him in action against Oden.

I don't care too much about stats. Hopefully at the peak of his career, he'd be a 20/10 impact player. Too many homers here or am I being too negative when I say that he will not be better than Duncan or KG, yet most people's prediction suggests otherwise.

Numbers are numbers and nothing more. Better numbers doesnt nessarely mean that the person with better numbers was better. Bynum will have a ton of easy opportunities to score because he is always down low under the basket. His oppertunities for rebounding and scoring will increase because of his position on the court as oppose to a duncan who sometimes plays on the wing. Duncan is often setting high picks at the top of the key for parker, parker then throws the ball back out for top of the key "J". Or he is shooting his bank shot from the wing. Bynum stuff will strickly come from the paint, 3-4 ft and in.

If he could improve his 1 on 1 post game, he could get up there in points. If in 5 years, he was the main player on the team, 23-26 points could be had.

That said, next year.. He'll average 14.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks. Pau will average around 18, Kobe will average about 26.

Lol! Talk about over rating a player .... goodness me! You Laker fans need to calm down.

Andrew Bynum is a nice prospect. Nothing more, nothing less.

He will not be a 26ppg scorer or haul in 13rpg or block 3 shots a night.

You all get so excited about his 17ppg 12rpg average over a 6 game span and you seem to think he'll duplicate it come next year.

You seem to forget he was the only rebounder on the team when he was putting solid numbers up. Granted he played well but calm down guys .... with Kobe, Pau Gasol, Odom, Bynum will not be near 17ppg this season. Nor will he be grabbing 12rpg.

His numbers will drop. At best he may be a 20/10 type player, not some 25ppg scorer - he doesn't have a shot outside the paint to get such large amounts of points.

Centers are also the longest players to develop, and although he's still young, by the time he is playing to his potential, Kobe will be in decline and old, with Odom and Pau Gasol ageing too.

Like I said, Bynum is a nice prospect, like Al Jefferson was with the Celtics, but you guys need to calm down on him. Seriously.

^^^I hate people like you, your a complete ass
Wow what a hater AB17 is going to be a good center and one of our best rebounders, Odom was playing next to Bynum when he was putting up 17 and 12. You silly Kings fan

Why are you so angry?

I'm not a hater. I even said Bynum is a good prospect, but some of you are talking as if he's some type of hall of fame center with averages like 26/13/3.

There's reason to be optimistic about next season but too many Laker fans are assuming he's going to drop 17/12/2 next season.

Yes I know Odom was playing with him that time. There's no way Bynum gets 12 rpg with Pau Gasol next to him.

He may be a 10ppg / 8rpg player next season - that is my opinion. I think he can be a solid center in the league, but he certainly isn't going to have all-star numbers playing behind Odom, Kobe and Gasol.

That is my point.

Also, too many Laker fans are over-rating him quickly. Let's see what he has first.

And for the record - Oden is easily the better prospect. Let's not be bias here.

I guess you know that you can also shove your F***ing opinion too. I'm also F***ing tired of people talking as if Oden has played a F***ing minute in the F***ing NBA. That guy has proved nothing, let me break it down for you. HE HASN'T PROVED A MUTHA F***ING THING TO ANYONE AND DAMNIT COLLEGE DOESN'T COUNT. HELL HE FOULD OUT IN COLLEGE IN THE MOST I'MPORTANT GAMES DURING OHIO'S NCAA RUN. Your A F***ing A**hole, hands down. Your a Portland JailBlazers fan arent you. Your still mad that we beat you guys on our way to win the Finals, well you can think Rasheed Wallace for all his help too. It was already easy, he made it seem like the Lakers were playing a little leauge basketball team after his melt down. You'll always be know as the JailBlazers, AKA The Los Angeles Lakers' Haters
