1. SHOWTIME!
2. Kobe/Shaq duo and their three-peat.
3. Purple/Gold combo. Who doesnt love it?
4. My whole family is a Laker fan.
5. Through the good and the bad, the Laker teams have always seems to tough it out and be #1. You wanna do that in life in whatever you do.
I started watching the Lakers in 96 (6 years old), but didnt follow them religiously till the 2000 season (10 years old)

Re: 5 reasons why you a Laker Fan
1. When I was one years old to seventeen, I lived in L.A. I thought there was only one team in the world.
2. Literally grew up with the showtime Lakers. Cried when I picked up the LA Times with Magic saying he was HIV positive.
3. But I fell in love with them during the post-Magic, Nick Van Exellent, Eddie Jones era. Underdogs with heart. During that time, regardless of what some may say, many in Los Angeles were Bulls and Jordan fans. Many more didn't care much about basketball since we weren't as successful. Chick Hearn was right there with us, every other night on KCAL 9.
4. Went to college on the east coast, and with so much pressure to conform or otherwise compromise my identity, I held onto my roots and the Lakers became representative of that, a foothold to my past. Keepin' it real, son. Also, got into some fights because I was a Laker fan, and that made me almost militant.
5. I've lived all over the country, including Utah, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York, and I'm a Laker fan because I won't forget where I came from. Every time I watch a Laker game, I can feel the hazy sun, hear the low-riders bumping eazy-e, smell In-N-Out...
I realize that all five of my points are really one point.
P.S. I always felt the Lakers had one of the ugliest uniforms. Purple and gold doesn't look good on anyone, really, unless you're holding a scepter and wearing a laurel wreath. Laker girls are also overrated, but maybe that's because I hate their white sneakers. I'd much prefer high heels sans stockings but then I realize they would be called strippers.
Anyways, I'm a fan of the Lakers because that's home, homie. That's who we be.

1-Magic camp( I was only 9) 2-I sneeked in the forum(that's right) 3-Showtime (and I was lucky enough to meet every laker back in the day and get auto's) 4- Read one and three again 5-Read number two again. Out of all of us I still think I was the luckest fan, because I actually meet and known alot of them personaly.I got to go to there homes and play with a bunch of them(I'm not going to drop names, because I'll just be called a liar-untill you see me pics).I feel like there a part of my family and a big part of my life. It's a lot different feeling when you know them a talk to them aposed to just being a fan.Well I grew up a laker fan and going to die a laker fan(my wife says I'm the easiest person to shop for at xmas time-lol....next person.

2. 90's - NVE and co.
3. early 00's - Dynamic Duo
4. mid to late 00's - Kobe
5. 2010 - Bynum
Never a real losing moment. The Lakers are truly the best franchise ever.

My five are awful.
1. There is no NBA team in Las Vegas
2. They were the only team with 50+ games on TV in Las Vegas
3. When Shaq was traded, I wasn't a huge follower, but that got me to become a huge fan
4. I love the great history

Re: 5 reasons why you a Laker Fan
It was probably around 1997, so i guess when i was around 9 or 10, I became a fan of the Lakers. They were that talented team that always got their ass kicked. Shaq was one of the first players I ever knew, and I thought he was really good. I watched shaq and co. battle mj, pippen, and the bulls one game, and the lakers (the explosive scoring cool team) won. Eddie jones hit this sick corner 3 off the backboard. Ever since then, I liked eddie jones. I saw kobe standing with jordan and they were standing the same way, so I thought kobe was going to be good lol. In another game, Derek Fisher made an awesome driving layup, so I thought he was coool, too.
Then I started to actually understand basketball in 1998-1999 and 1999-2000. I really got into it then. I was pissed when they lost to the spurs. By that time, shaq was my favorite player in the game. Still is. I feel like my knowledge and relationship with basketball itself grew up with the 2000 lakers. They are my favorite team ever. Fox and Horry. Fisher. A.C. Green. Ron Harper. Brian Shaw. Of course shaq and kobe. Horry, fox, and fisher, no matter what, will always be my favorite role-playing core ever.
1. Their great lineage of centers, including my favorite player ever, shaq.
2. The 3-peat, dynamic duo era was what I grew up watching.
3. Eddie Jones's corner 3 that I described lol.
4. We had Magic. Whenever I watch Magic, he makes the game very exciting.
5. I've always liked lamar odom, even as a clipper way back. I've enjoyed seeing him play with Kobe. Bringing up Kobe, I've enjoyed watching bryant come into his own during his prime as a leader. With fisher back, last season sort of felt like the 2000 season. That's why I can't wait for this upcoming season.

Re: 5 reasons why you a Laker Fan
1. Lakers were the team to beat when I started playing for school in 2000 and I used to watch playoff games at school with friends and coach.
2. Dad was an editor and he used to get a copy of NY times and LA times every now and then to keep up with his area of work and I used to read about the NBA in sports columns.
3. Was always fascinated by a talent like Kobe Bryant and he reminded me that being a loner is no crime. I never had a big group of friends except a close few I hung out with and I used to cry alone whenever I lost at soccer or basketball as a kid. Kobe's will to win and succeed was always inspiring.
4. The franchise stands for success and they never stay quiet for too long. Its like mediocrity is never an option.
5. There's never a dull moment with this team and there's always a special character who keeps you excited if not the star potential.

Re: 5 reasons why you a Laker Fan
I actually became a Laker/basketball fan watching them get their rings on opening night after the first of the threepeat.
I was a casual fan, but after watching some Kobe Bryant, I became awed and start loving ball and the Lakers.
Kobe is a big reason as after the first time I watched him play I got up and started trying to dribble a ball like him.
I think I became a DIE HARD fan of the Lakers and basketball after watching Kobe hit the shot at the end over Ruben Patterson to send the game into overtime, and then see Kobe nailing the game winning fall away 3 at the buzzer in OT to give the Lakers the W on the last night of the season. That was magical. Then that whole playoff series with the Rockets (the crazy spinning And1 Kobe got), The Wolves (Coming back from down 2-0), the Spurs (Fisher! 0.4!) and even the game winning 3 by Kobe in the Finals in Game 2.
Ever since then, I'm a die hard fan. I'm looking forward to the future seasons.

1. Championships - They are always winning or at least competing for championships. They never have rebuilding years, and our the favorite to win the championship at the start of every year.
2. Kobe - Best player of all time. Need I say more?
3. Sex - If you are at a party and a guy asks you your favorite basketball team and you say lakers, chances are good that you will be getting in bed with him later that night.
4. Chris Mihm - White Man's Kareem. Need I say more?
5. Money - Being a Lakers fan makes people think you are rich.

I'm just a diehard on lakers fan. Nothing can stop my desire to see the lakers win championships. Joke account? No. I believe every word that comes out of my computers mouth.
