The Lakers really didn’t add anything to their team this summer but lost a huge contributor in Ronny Turiaf. His departure will be a very difficult spot to fill
The Lakers were a team clicking on all cylinders, and had a bunch of role players playing disgustingly out of their minds, and used a weak path (Denver, Utah, and San Antonio with an injured Manu Ginobili and a non-call on Brent Barry’s three) to get to the Finals. Once there, they were exposed and failed to cover the spread in a single game. Now that Kobe has his MVP and his gold medal – what will he and his busted pinky have left to play for?
Bynum was on a tear before leaving the season with an injury last year – and was often The Patented Lakers Fan Excuse for their failure to win the title against the hated Celtics. “Yea, well, we didn’t have Bynum – imagine if Bynum was in there on Kendrick Perkins and Leon Powe! We definitely would've won!” is all you will hear from anybody who claims to be a Laker fan. But here’s the rebuttal: IT WAS KENDRICK PERKINS AND LEON POWE!! Not Tim Duncan and David Robinson in 1999. Not Patrick Ewing and Charles Oakley in 1994. Not Bill Laimbeer and John Salley in 1989. KENDRICK PERKINS AND LEON POWE!
If Pau Gasol is this super stud power forward/center, then why couldn’t he stop Perkins, Powe, KG, Boston Celtics ' player X>? Bynum may have made a small difference, but let’s be honest; he’s never put up All Star numbers, and he’s barely proven himself in a very small sample size to be a decent starting center
all quotes from one source. what do you think about them and where do you think i got them from? if you already know, don't spoil it too fast, just say u know. if everyone knows, i fail.
ok, after posting your guess and your thoughts...follow the
link to the article.

Ronny Turiaf a hige contributor?? I love Ronny as much as the next guy but he was lackluster in the playoffs.. He averaged like 2ppg and 1.5 rpg or something like that... As for additions... Powell should easily be able to match his numbers, I dunno about his intensity though
LOL at the easy path to the Finals... we beat three 50 win teams... Sure Manu was hurt but we beat San An in 5 games and 1 or 2 of them were blowouts for the Lakers... And its not like we completely bent over in the Finals... We won 2 games --- could have won 3
OK.. Sure Bynum would have only been guarding Perkins... But its not about who Bynum would have been guarding.. Its about the 10 rebounds and 2 blocks he brings to the table... He would have done a better job protecting the basket from all of Boston's easy layups... And LOL at questioning Pau's defense... He held KG to like 42% for the series.... After holding Boozer and Duncan to similar percentages... Why couldnt Pau stop KG, Perkins and Powe? Because he cant guard 3 players at the same time you F'ing idiot
Thank you... My guess is it comes from the Blazers or Celtics broadcaster

I think said site needs to stay away from reporting. No offense, but it's just going to be too biased...which is expected, since its the entire purpose of the site...just shouldn't touch journalism.

I'll go out on a limb... Bill Walton??? He's simmered down being a laker hater, but now that Luke isn't getting the mins he used to, he'll bad mouth the lakers....

Ok Dcash. I couldn't take it anymore and I cheated and googled the origin of these quotes.

And I must say that I'm not surprised. That site's opinions has more curve on it than K-Rod's breaking ball.

Yeah and I read the article the day it was posted and surprising how the writer calls our path to the finals an easy one. Didn't we beat the Jazz and the Spurs convincingly? May be a first round match up with GSW would have tested us more but still the article was pretty biased.

Yeah. I read that the other day. I was very surprised they let that hack job slip through the cracks. That's not writing, that's venting. Low class. That type of kindergarten stuff will not help this board's reputation as a legit source of good information.
Irritatingly and obviously hateful against Lakerland. It's more like a uni-brow post than anything else, only disguised as journalism, which is supposed to be truthful, not biased personal emo-babble. That's what forums are for. There is a distinction between posting and being a journalist.

What the hell ................a non call on Brent Barry's three ? You mean the shot that bricked so damn hard to the right I'm surprise the backboard didn't chip off. Like Double E said this is kindergarten stuff.

Sounds like the typical Clipper season preview with all the cynical star player stuff and significant losses (although the Turiaf evaluation is way off), but the Bynum part sounds pretty biased.

Is this guy just some poster here that happens to get a column to write for on realgm or what?
Sounds extremely amateur.
