magic accused of faking aids

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3636469MINNEAPOLIS -- A Minneapolis radio station says it will air public service announcements on HIV/AIDS after a pair of talk hosts accused Magic Johnson of faking AIDS.
KTLK's Chris Baker and Langdon Perry made the remarks during Baker's conservative talk show on Wednesday. After Johnson condemned the statements, the station said Friday it regretted "some off-hand remarks" by the pair.
The exchange came up after a caller complained about demands on workers.
"The fact that they would make jokes about my status is unbelievable," Magic Johnson said in a statement about a Minneapolis talk radio show's comments.
Perry responded by asking about treatable diseases that a person can live with for a long time "if you just get some basic drugs."
Baker responded, "Like Magic Johnson?"
Perry replied, "Like Magic with his faked AIDS. Magic faked AIDS."
Baker said, "You think Magic faked AIDS for sympathy?"
Perry replied, "I'm convinced that Magic faked AIDS."
"Me too," Baker said.
Johnson issued a statement Thursday saying he was "outraged that Chris Baker and Langdon Perry would minimize such a serious and deadly issue."

Yeah he faked Aids for sympathy because he was tired of kicking the NBA's A$$ and winning titles. The stupidity of some people is amazing who say or do anything to get ratings. Those two dummies don't even realize that Aids is a virus that replicates itself and is not classified as a disease.

Sometimes, it's better to be quiet and assumed a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Especially when on the radio.

Thats messed up. He walked away from the game he absolutely loved and was loved by all for it. And they say he wanted sympathy?
The guy even came back for the 92 all-star game and in 96 for a part of the season, putting himself out there just for the game, even though he may not look as good or may be ridiculed.
Those guys are illogical and stupid as hell. Magic has done a lot for Aids patients, too. Why would he do all of that if he just wanted sympathy?

Conservatives in this country have gone completely bananas. At first I thought it was limited to the ones closely following those two "maverick" idiots, but now it appears to be bleeding over into sports.
What a crock to even suggest he faked it. What possible good would that do? The man had to end his NBA career early and break the hearts of millions of fans, myself included.

If you listen to Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh every once in a while -- and I do, in keeping with the old "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer" adage -- this wouldn't surprise you in the least.

That was ridiculous on those guys part. People today just aren't made up of much of anything anymore
