Jordan Farmars EGO !!!

Post#1 » by Kobe1konobi » Sat Oct 11, 2008 5:44 pm

Im sure im not the only one out there who feels like this year being his 3rd Jordan Farmar doesnt have the luxury of just being a rookie or someone just in his second year still really tryna find his own in the NBA or the Lakers team. I really think this year knowing how confident Farmar can be ...that he should take it upon himself to be a major reason why the lakers get back to the finals but why we would get over the hump just as much as the pressures on Bynum to be the reason why.Farmar should be our own lil wildcard that we have to throw at other teams once bench play comes in our just period...anytime hes on the Floor. I feel he has the same kind of abilities to have moments where he takes over the game in a back up or starter role like i.e. Barbosa,Rondo, Devin Harris with the Mavericks, Monta Ellis b4 starting, SMH Leon Powe in the playoffs  :x  , Acie Law and also Al Thorton for the clippers (mayB i went to far with that one lol but still point made).
Its Clear Phil, Kobe and Fisher have confidence in his game and leadership abilities so he has no reason not to try and do those things and when i say that i dont totally mean scoring....it can be a number of things from defense to his breaking down defenses getting guys open looks and dishing the ball so well on his penetration that Bynum and Pau Gasol look like they actually belong on the court together.

Heres a Video just to win over a couple of opinions and get you guys excited to see what our 3rd year investment can bring to the table this year for this long NBA SEASON......

Farmar was awesome for us last year during the first half of the season. He was consistently hitting threes over 40% and was even taking minutes from Fisher in the fourth quarter to close out games. It was his first full year getting regular minutes and I think the long enduring 82 game season finally took a tole on him towards the end. I think his legs got a little worn out last year and affected his shot. He looks a lot leaner now and he's fully rested thus looking real good again in the pre season. Hopefully his conditioning has improved since last year and with that whole year under his belt he can remain consistent during the year and post season. I'd like farmar to be more aggressive and not just settle for threes. He has the ability to get by his man and with two seven footers inside he'd be very lethal if he would blow by his man to set up Pau or Drew for an open dunk when their man helps out. Barring any trades, he's in position to take over our PG situation very soon as Fisher is getting older and we don't know how long his body can hold up. I see Farmar getting alot more burn this year as Phil is going to try and reduce Fisher's minutes in hopes of keeping him fresh for the playoffs.

If he can play like he did the first half of last season then he would be huge for this team. He hit a wall at the end of last season and actually hurt us a bit against Boston. I really hope that he can take over that Devin Harris/Monta Ellis role.

If nothing else, Farmar's got some confidence.

I do think he'll play a bigger role this year...he's gotta because Fish ain't getting any younger.

I would have to agree....Knowing Phil Jackson realizing the window closing on D Fish legs i have a feeling hes gonna really try and challene Farmar to step up big time this year.
