LAC work out Lindsey Hunter...

Post#1 » by DubaLakers » Thu Oct 23, 2008 9:09 pm

Hmm. I thought he was going to retire or stay with the Pistons. This is exactly what we need a PG who plays D first. Only dowside is his age, but I'm sure he'd play for the minimum and be ready for the playoffs. We should be working him out.

When we had Aaron McKie... and he came in with the fresh legs in the 2nd half... that's what we need.

Not Sun/Coby.

But it looks like the Lakers are gonna commit on Sun.

Not sure about Coby/DJ.

So if they let either one of those 3 out, Hunter would be the better option as a reserve.

Then again.. we already got Fish/Farmar/Sasha.

Article read that it they were trying him out not knowing how long Davis would be out but I guess since his injury wasn't all that bad... they probably won't sign Lindsey.. ..

I'd love if we signed Hunter. Savvy vet with tri experience, excellent defender and can hit the 3. A guy like him pays off big time come playoff time. At the very least, he's better than Karl

It's funny when you guys jump on the "do it mitch" bandwagon when a player gets cut by another team!

Come on Lindsey........................hang'em up dog it's over.............especially at 39 man.
Don't get me wrong here I support all my 30 something brothers, but Lindsey couldn't even shoot last season.

Let him sign with the clippers. Hunter's really not that good. Back in his first stint with the lakers in the early 2000's, he wasn't impressive at all. We're fine with fisher and farmar playing the big minutes at the point.

Who said we needed someone new to put in big minutes at the PG spot? Everyone here agrees that Fish and Farmar will indeed take those minutes, but the thing we need is a 3rd string PG.

^^^True. But whats wrong with some combination of sasha/coby karl as the 3rd string point?

I know hunter seems nice because he has playoff experience and knows the triangle, but he's pretty up there in age, and personally, he never impressed me when he was with the lakers before to begin with. Plus, ito of a steady, excellent shooting, good defense, experienced point guard, we have fisher to do exactly those things. He helps our young guards out a lot, on and off the court. I'd rather build some more of the continuity that we've already started with the younger guys, and with an eye on the future as well (again, consider hunter's age).
