I'm currently moving and I'm not going to have TV during the opening night, so I'd like some suggestions for the best sports bar to go and watch a Lakers game at in West LA. I just hope it has at least these features:
-hdtv screen
-able to hear commentators
Thanks everybody!

There are quite a few on Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica. I forget the names.
Also, do you know where the Howard Hughes Center is? The Bridge Movie Theaters has a great little Jetson looking bar with big screen TV and clean, really loud sound. You don't need movie tickets to get in, I was told when I called, once.

My buddy opened up a sports bar in Santa Monica on Wilshire in between 15th and 16th, and I've been shamelessly plugging it on here whenever I get the chance. It's called the Parlor and it is awesome. It's a classic sports bar, so people are a little more dressed up than the local dive sports bar, but it has all the regular sports bar motifs. Puck, pool, air hockey. This place is two stories, the first story is a regular bar and has booths and tables, and upstairs has a dance floor and a balcony/patio with table tops that overlook wilshire. Bars are on both floors. BTW Plasma tvs are plastered everywhere. Jay-Z was spotted there watching a day game for the Yankees. Definitely check it out!

Sports Harbour - right where Marina del Rey/Culver City/Venice intersect - on Washington just east of Lincoln. Bunch of TVs of all sizes, a big Laker homebase for about 40 yrs.

Nice! I'm glad you went there. Ya, this place is definitely blowing up. It's a lot bigger and less congested as Q's, and has an awesome dance floor on top which a lot of the Santa Monica bars are missing. I'm always there btw.
