It is disgusting to see all the screens KG was setting and getting away with not to mention the hand checking. May be developing a reputation as a hard defending unit during the season pays off with the refs in the playoffs but I for one can never imagine any Lakers squad doing any of that stuff.

The Celtics built up the allowance with the refs for that type of defense by playing extremely hard all season. Nothing to cry to mommy about. We just have to do the same thing this season.

I have only one reaction -- I wish we played D like that.

Well, this video made me frustrated again how the best player in the Univers(e)al Studios "Give him the Oscar, please !" - Mr. Paul Pierce was playing against Kobe in defense !

They're so dirty ! KG doesn't know anything about a legal screen, stupid !
PJ Brown was annoying, Posey was 10x annoying !

No ! No ! I just wanna stay calm, too bad i saw it now !

Some of those clips shouldve gone the other way, but really, you cant expect the refs to call them differently. Im sure someone could make a video just like this and replace Celtics clips with Laker ones and obvious calls the refs missed. Remember the clip in this vid where they showed that Posey "clipped" Bryant on his way up for the dunk? Well, Bryant got that dunk because of an obvious slap across Pierce's hand to loosen the ball up.

It goes both ways, but I sure do hope the Lakers have the balls to play D like that this time around.

I'm sick of hearing about Lakers fans' p•••y hurting. If our team plays defense like that, we have a good shot at winning the championship this season. Defense is a mindset, and there's no excuse for being out-hustled in the NBA finals, other than maybe youth. If the refs don't call it, it's legal. Don't like it? Try quilting. The Celtics played much harder than us and with much more purpose, period. The aggressor always wins. When is this team going to get that?

Time to grow a pair. And stop the whining on the court, too, Sasha and Jordan. I want to see this team stepping up their intensity and aggressor mindset this season. Getting beat up should be expected, not complained about. It's professional sports, not freaking band camp. To quote a wise man, "rip out their hearts, then take a dump in their chest". It's all about mindset for this season. We have enough talent and offensive potency to win it all. Defense, defense, defense!!!

To start off the season, I'd like to see Bynum humiliate Oden tonight, knock him to the floor on the first possession, then embarrass him with a facial on the other end. Set the bar on the first possession and don't let up for a second.

1. Erik, i agree with you on everything except one thing - it's one thing to outhustle a team and it's totally a different one when the refs call offensive fouls so easily against Kobe and whoever "caused" them against the Celtics.

2. If you first sentence was addressed to me - i'm terribly sorry for writing what's really in my head, not pretending... :)

It wasn't directed at you. More towards the spirit of this type of thread.

Remember when we used to be the bully with Shaq, Horry, Fox, Kobe, Shaw etc during the threepeat? Those teams were tougher than all other teams, that's why they won. Since they were the toughest team, they consequently might have got the same benefits from the refs/league/insert personal conspiracy theory here, as the Celtics might have. But regardless of whatever benefits our haters claimed that our threepeat teams got, they got it because they were tougher — the mental aggressor, the physical aggressor, the offensive aggressor and the defensive aggressor. That type of team wins plays, quarters, games, seasons and championships.

The Celtics played harder than the Lakers. Stop the excuses. That type of stuff is for sore losers.

That's very true, indeed !

Let's hope the Lakers realized what it takes to win it all, and they've seen how the Celtics did in order to play hard in defense.

Man! I thought this is going to be Celtic bash thread. It's so good that we have such good posters on this board.

Defense FTW. Show some toughness and win the champ this year!

The refs usually favors the agressor. The Celts are the agressors in the Finals. If we played hard on defense like they did, we probably would have got more calls going our way
