Best place to find players Height/weight/etc.

Post#1 » by Gus McCrae » Tue Oct 28, 2008 4:40 pm

Wasn't sure what to call this topic. Essentially, my friend I are debating who weights more, Bynum or Oden. I said I thought it was Oden, he said Bynum.

So we went on Yahoo and NBA and both had Oden at 7'0/ 250lbs and Bynum at 7'0/ 275lbs.
Then I just checked ESPN which had Oden listed at 280lbs.

I just saw an article listing Oden at 290 lbs according to his trainer in July.

Does anyone know what these 2 currently weigh and who's bigger? if so, is there a site that has more updated stats on players or do you have to pretty much do your own research for this type of stuff?

Thanks!

The only way to get real height and weight is the predraft measurements and then it never really changes. For example marbury came into the league skinny and was listed as 180. He bulks up but there not gonna make him step on the scale.
KG was about 6'11 but then grew. He is still listed at 6'11.
The nba also likes to add inches and subtract weight for example Kobe was listed at 6'7 for a while and some places still is and some places 6'6. He has even said himself he is 6'5.
Barkley was listed at 6'7 but said in his book even with shoes he was under 6'6.
No place updates and tells the truth.

So he is probably listed at 6'9 or 6'10? The nba are liars.
Its really wierd and would be alot easier if they listed the real heights and weights.
Espially since your above average fan knows they lie.

okay, that's probably what I thought. The bynum oden question will eternally remain unanswered.

Thanks for the feedback by the way. Didn't know Kobe was 6'5. I always thought he was 6'7.

You believed 6'7?
I wish he was. That would be only 1 inch shorter then Lebron. Lebron is clearly a couple inches taller.
If he was 6'7 Pierce would have never played that well vs him.
Beasley is listed at 6'10 but is 6'7
