Does anybody think Fisher should be starting?

Starting over Farmar?
Fisher is great but Farmar is clearly the superior player at this point. Fisher is also 34 years old and cutting down his minutes and letting him play vs the second unit will really conserve his energy.
Plus with Bynum and Gasol without Odom it is good to have a playmaker in the lineup besides Kobe and he still has the 3.
Fisher can still play his shooting pg role with Odom in the second lineup.
How long til Phil puts Farmar s the starter?
I would say 20 games into it.

i don't think farmar would be any where near as effective playing with the starters where he has to defer and basically become a spot up shooter. farmar's success has come from pushing the ball with ariza/odom and controlling the ball in the half court.

fisher will slow down the bench mob

farmar , if he plays well, will probably get more minutes don't know about starting but his time should increase if he keeps it up

Listen to the Rambis interview...

Coaches think Farmar's decision making is still shaky...

We don't need a flashy playmaker at the point (not that Farmar is that either), we need super solid decision making and a wide open jumper.

Fish starts... Farmar maybe next year.

All very good points but I am not sure Fisher slows down the bench to much. He still seems pretty quick out there espially since he only really has to be quick to the 3 point line.
Also it can't be easy for Fish to handle the Pual;s and Williams of the nba but Farmar can stay with those guys, speed wise.

Listen to what Rambis said, Dexmor. There is a thread about it. Until he improves in those areas, he'll lead the bench mob. Even when he has matured and improved his decision making, he is still a better fit for what the second unit is trying to do — push, push, push. Fisher isn't exactly hurting the starting line-up just yet. But yeah, Farmar be a starter in this league one day soon.

Chewed up and swolled the wires and the box but not the actual laptop.
Also back to the Farmar thing unless it's a situation like Odom coming off the bench because they need to space the floor which I agree with the better player should start and Farmar is clearly the better player imo.

Dog is fine. A piece of cheese gives him diarea but computer wires and electric boxes are fine.

You can't say if it aint broke don't fix it. By that logic Odom would be starting and Gasol would not be a Laker. You can always improve espially with the rockets and Hornets out there.

Fisher should be starting no doubt in my mind. Watch your boy Farmar a little closer with his on ball D, he's a bit of a ole' defender, Fisher is a more physical, intelligent defender. As Reggie Miller said last year funnier than I'm stating it, "D Fish fouls on every play," Farmar wouldn't receive the same luxury from the zebras. D Fish is a better PG top to bottom especially with his decision making ability, he recognizes the ebbs and flows of the game, what's needed and when. Farmar fits in better with the speed unit rather than the half court set first unit.

Funny though how Fisher's decision making was poor last night, IMO. He seemed to be a little too aggressive at points taking it to the hole. Fisher driving is probably the lowest percentage shot we have on that starting lineup.

Yes, Farmar's still young and he makes more sense with the second unit...but Fisher needs to recognize his role with that starting unit. He's a spot-up shooter and hard-nosed defender. I don't want to watch him driving to the basket when we could have Gasol/Bynum/Kobe posting up or Vlad in the corner.

I dont think it makes any sense to move Fisher to the bench when the bench plays so well with Jordan Farmar. I really don't understand why fans want to tinker with things like this when its obviously working out on the floor just fine.

Well this is a new starting lineup and in many ways a new team with Gasol and Bynum playing together. Your acting like they have been playing together for years, they won the championship and they are 5 games above first place half way threw.
Do you really think Fisher wouldn't play well in the starting unit?
Farmar can make Bynum much better because he is a real pg. Gasol and Kobe also can potentially give him nice passes and Vlade to but Fisher is really a just a shooter.
We all know if Fisher was 6'4 he would be a 2.
