Al Harrington is a +

having al harrington on the lakers would give us a big, smart player who can hit 3's.

any offers kupchak can pull out of his bag of goodies?

perhaps get rid of chris mihm and luke walton? or radmanovich? josh powell?? ariza?

id like to see

pg-odom
sg-kobe
sf-harrington
pf-gasol
c-bynum

BIG, STRONG, AND SCARY!

(but i think he is a 9 million expiring, with an ego)

EGO

That's the only thing I saw. We don't need anybody on this team that's going to worry about shots or minutes.

Seems like he's accepting defeat to Corey Maggette.

I'd probably trade him for Walton straight up, but I don't think the Warriors would get all enthused over such an offer. Other than that, no thanks. A year or two back, a lot of people here wanted to trade Odom for Harrington. It's funny how things change.

EDIT: Typo

I think you guys are great but if you guys go to other boards and see fans make redicoulus trade offers like lets offer Lee for Okufor.
First off if Odom was gonna play pg he would now.
Second off they might want to trade Harrington but not for Luke Walton.
With that said if the Lakers did an Odom for Harrington to save money or something I can see it because he can hit the 3 but would he want to be 4th option?
I am not saying that I want that trade but it is the only realistic.

Al Harrington 28 years old
2008/09 $9,226,250
2009/10 $10,026,875

Stephen Jackson 30 years old
2008/09 $7,140,000
2009/10 $7,650,000

I'd trade Odom for Jackson. He's a better fit at the small forward position and costs less since we need the money to re-sign Bynum.

PG-Fisher/Farmar
SG-Kobe/Vujacic
SF-Jackson/Ariza/Walton
PF-Gasol/Radmanovic/Powell
C-Bynum/Mihm/Mbenga

Jackson is the Warriors. No way they're trading him.

I think the Lakers are going to run with the team they have and barring injury or someone underperforming they won't make any changes. That is of course unless someone offers something for nothing like Brown for Gasol.

rumor has it...

lebron james wants to come to the lakers, and the lakers are packaging odom straight up for lebron.
kevin garnett said he made a mistake not signing with the lakers, and now the lakers are trading bynum to the celtics for garnett.
also, yao ming is on the trading block, expect the lakers to make a push for him by sending away gasol.
laslty, the jazz are shaky on the fact that deron williams is injured now. they are looking for an immediate young and solid guard, so the lakers decided to trade jordan farmar and sasha vujacic for deron.
the above players have also agreed to take severe paycuts, and due to this, the olympiakos are no longer a fear to land major names as bryant has signed a 30 year/gazzillion dollar contract. expect him to stay with the lakers throughout the 2038/39 season.

deron williams
kobe bryant
lebron james
kevin garnett
yao ming

hopefully the lakers can get over the hump now

Thank you. That is how some of you sound,
It is clearly not that bad but when you think it is possible it almost is.
Gasol for Kwame was a fluke. You can't expect that ever. It has to be one of those things if it happens once every 10 years it happens.

wiretap
you guys didn't tell me he wanted out
"It is what it is. That's being all the way honest. That's putting it out there. Do I think that Al might have to be traded? Do I think it's going to work with me and Nellie? I don't think so. That's how I feel."

Harrington also explained that he didn't want to be a distraction to the team, but news of coach Don Nelson's contract extension has him doubting that the two can make it work.

Funny LeBron's name came up.

From a column I just read:

"(Along) with the Knicks, there are two teams a source familiar with James’ thinking says intrigue him: The Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks."

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=a ... &type=lgns

That's the only mention of the Lakers. It won't amount to anything, but it's fun to fantasize about.

Hell no......................we don't need Harrington and certainly not another big who shoots 3's, Vlad is enough. Look people every time somebody is available doesn't mean we need them, we're ok the way we are be happy with it. Harrington is playing for Harrington not his team, dude been like that his whole career so if he hasn't changed what in the hell makes you think he's going to ever change ?

odom is making zero in 09/10

harrington is making 9 million next yr.

now with bynum's basically max deal kicking in taking on 09/10 salary not named ariza is clearly a no.

iki4life, you've said some whacky stuff in the past, but this is pretty whacky, honestly Al Harrington?!

This is the longest I can remember where I can be proud of the Lakers and I can say, yeah but we need this...for the team they have put out on the floor for us, there is no true weakness, with the exception of possible overconfidence and a commitment from start to end. Other than those things and injury there is nothing to prevent them from taking the trophy. Next!

PS DCash I just put you in my RealGM fav 5, nice job lately.

PSS Deep is that KAJ? Is that a pic from Power?
